You do know that since inception crypto has never been used for anything except as a speculative investment. You mean do I understand that?

Do I understand that Link isn't being used in any significant way, and has essentially zero meaningful adoption? Yes, I understand that, do you?

Billions invested in a centralized project that is run by a tiny handful of people? With no where near that amount in a valuation? Can you explain to me why Link should be worth billions? Completely reliant on roadmaps/partnerships which have NEVER done ANYTHING for crypto since crypto has existed? Reliant not on fundamental aspects or reality but on dreams of grandeur, and amateur investors? A crypto that lives on breathes on hype and price action?

I think I understand a lot more about crypto then most.

I would argue that you don't know what a speculative investment is, or our argument is merely semantic. I would argue that an investment that regularly drops 80% is speculative. Unlike other investments like CD's or even the S&P500 which historically returns ~9% ROI's. You could argue that if you got in BTC in the beginning, it wasn't speculative, but crypto was never destined to go up so much.

In fact it was originally designed to be an actual currency, but instead has turned into an alternative store of wealth. No one actually uses Bitcoin (or any other crypto besides maybe Monero in extremely low volumes) to buy anything or use in any other case besides as an investment.

Link has a function other then the tokenomics. The Token is going to be used as liquidity and collateral for smart contracts. chainlinks actual function is like a web that connects and legitimizes smart contracts. basically a lot of data analyst jobs and jobs that analize analysis jobs will be replaced by chainlink. No more lawyers for insurance claims, simply file your policy and if it met the criteria your given your payment in links value to USD based off the agreement

Yes. But this reads like the white paper of virtually any cryptocurrency project. They rise in value as speculators start dreaming about Lambo's, especially because of the 2017 bubble and how quickly the coins rise in value. The wealth has always been made by the first investors however, and it's incredibly hard to time it.

There have been so many crypto's that have come and gone here it's truly incredible. Go on any crypto listing site and you can see thousands of cryptocurrencies that all made/make big promises. However, the bigger the promise, the more evidence is required. And Link feeds off of the biggest promises/dreams. But it's in the same boat as all of the other crypto's - still looking for a place in the world.

>The Token is going to be used
This is the key here.

Blockchain is cool tech. But it's blockchain that is the novel idea and typically large investors (like the ones Link and XRP dreams depend on) don't want less power, they want more.

If you have experience with code, you'll know that smart contracts are essentially just lines of code (if this, then that). Software can exist to tackle the problems that Link looks to solve. And it makes little sense for a company (especially a publicly traded one), to tie its assets in the most volatile market that's ever existed.

BTC? Not as a currency. When was the last time you used BTC to buy/sell anything? It's not built for it. Transactions are prohibitively expensive and can take days. It's ludicrous.

Fiat has worked relatively well for most of human history. I cant think of any fundamental reasons why a government backed currency will simply cease to exist. 2008 didn't effect it, and I'm betting we will weather the current recession, it won't be easy, but a paradigm shift where households (can you imagine your mom trying to decipher how to go all in on crypto) decide to buy into crypto is a dream that if possible is many, many, many years off. If anything gold, while not appreciating terribly well, has nonetheless held its value as a safe bet.

Crypto is still in its infancy. The couple hundred billion that are collectively invested into crypto is a drop in the bucket compared to the trillions in stock markets. It's not that I don't want crypto to be the future of money, but the facts aren't pointing in this direction (and *usage* is dropping). Also, it's sad to see that the exchanges (Coinbase) have literally become the banks (middlemen), robbing you w/ every transaction, which completely defeats the purpose of what crypto was supposed to be in almost every conceivable way. I have money in crypto, but I like to think I'm relatively realistic. If Link or whoever is going to be the next evolution in money, let's see some fucking facts and evidence, but that's not really what this board is about.

Most Cryptos aren't trying to do what chainlinks doing. Chainlink also has a lot of connections, and deals being struck up. Basically every fortune 500 company is going to be using chainlink, why? because it's cheaper and easier to do then going out of their way to develop what chainlink has already developed. It also helps that the tokens not in direct circulation will more than likely be sold to companies directly, if not burned.

I'd need to see some sort of citation that demonstrates that link does this cheaper/easier than a rival solution. Or that it would be cheaper for a company to create their own blockchain bespoke.

I think that link prides itself on being this way to eliminate the middleman, not realizing that it is the new (highly complex and intricate) middleman.

Yeah, again this is speculation. Anyone can do that, it's called a sales pitch. To actually implement it is another thing.

XRP is (allegedly) faster and cheaper than VISA. Doesn't matter if no one uses it and the banks don't want to fuck with crypto.

While the US' debt is an insane number, we are good for it, which is why we are the reserve currency for the world and have been for half a century. Our economy is historically the strongest which is why we can afford it. We aren't going to default anytime soon and the debt is a number that is in flux and almost arbitrary as it isn't a traditional amount that needs to be paid off by a certain date. If we wanted to balance our books, we could. We accumulate debt and other countries buy it no questions asked (Dollar is king), because we pay off our debts.

Just go ahead and dump link and Sir-gay for DOS NETWORK.

DOS has a finished and released mainnet with staking. They have a provably random number generator used for choosing validation node selection for a transactions/data feeds. This prevents collusion between node operators.

All this for $2M market cap. Plus, you don't have to fawn over that flannel fairy anymore.

Your welcome, Anons.
