Oh I see. Im not even trying to day trade, swing trading instead. Somehow I keep getting btfo'd. If I panic sell I end up either mitigating enormous losses or losing out on a bunch of gains, on occasion I buy/sell/close at a price point where it just crabs.

Heck I want to own 200 shares of SOXL. Own 100 shares (avg of about $200 over last 2 weeks) and sell 1 put to gain the other 100 for hopefully less. Close 1 put at a gain today near top and open a new one as I really want the shares but it keeps climbing. Sold the new put near the top today before SOXL dumped by about $22. Close the put at a price point where my gains from the previous SOXL put are erased. Effectively breakeven and making this pointless. Jeez I've only had 1 very successful move thus far and I failed at cashing out enormous gains. Now all my account does is either crab or dump even after implementing a new strat.

When you are trading, and I assume that is what you are doing, you need to have a plan about when you are going to bail, either on the upside or the downside.
