20311842 No.20311842[DELETED]  [Reply] [Original]

Constant drug use, threats, stealing from family.

Yesterday was the final straw. Police were called over, he was high at the time. Didn't believe the police were actually arresting him. He resisted arrest, and appeared to jump on the police officer (one was male, one female). my fight/flight kicked in and I jumped on him put him in a headlock as the police officers struggled against him.

He cut himself on his face, blood pouring out, as I had him in a headlock and started saying some shit in his ear. my family was shouting at me to get off him, and I did. Like 20 police officers came within seconds cause the woman called for backup. He still put up a struggle against 10+ officers grabbing him.

my dad was shouting at me saying "he's your brother" and saying I couldn't use that force. I feel bad for him, he's going to have a criminal record.

This all happened yesterday, I'm 22. Give me your thoughts bros. I'm not in the mood for anything.

I love you man. I'm genuinely sorry you had this experience. I hope your brother can get the help he needs and that he doesn't get put in the clink forever; rehab instead. We're all going to make it man. I'll pray for you.

That sucks man, hope this is his wake up call. If not he’s not going to turn it around for a while, if ever. Seen the same things in my family.

If he won’t get straight literally kidnap him and lock him up in a room for a month. Give him good food and exercise, should reset his brain patterns.

Maybe this will help him hit rock bottom, but things will probably get worse before they get better. It's not your fault he's on drugs and getting arrested. Just be there for him when he sees the light.

Sounds like he's in desperate need for a beating to within an inch of his life, so your own instincts were correct to a degree. Should've happened without police involvement desu, that felony is going to fuck him up even if he does a 180 in his life.
Good luck to you OP, were gonna make it

thank you man. we gave him all the help he needs, taken to multiple doctors, sent him to drug rehab for about $15k, counselling. he was stubborn as fuck and didn't want to change a thing about his disgusting habits.

just yesterday morning he was sober, hugged my dad and said "im not doing drugs any more". just an hour later he came back to the house higher than i've seen anyone.

im confused and sad as fuck.

You made the right choice OP. He needs this. You also need to accept that your parents are largely responsible for how he turned out.

Lol your a bitch, your dads right... could of done it without ruining his life having a record... he was probably raging cos his own family did this to him.

I had the same situation and we worked it out and avoided police at all cost for this very reason...

Why bother helping him if he's now ruined for the future employment prospects etc?

My brother was 20 at the time, i was 26... he has now finished uni and working as a grad...

Fuck me why involve the cops... they do nothing but fuck lives up.

You probably think u did the right thing by society standards but it was also the easy way out.

Would woop your ass if I were your dad.

you did the right thing for your family and acted on your belief in order. given your family's reaction, it seems like they are in denial and perhaps enablers of your brother's problem. as the above poster said, you can make them aware, but you can't make them change. for your sake, get out of there asap and if you want, help them as much as you can without letting them drag you down. love you brother.

I've been in similar situations with my father. It fucking sucks having a family member that goes crazy over time and it's like they're not the same person anymore.
I hope things will change for your brother, but it will be ultimately up to him to keep fucking up his life, or to better himself. If he chooses to better himself, be there for him. If not, you're just unfortunately let him go from your life.

I agree with some of the others sentiments anon

I do encourage you and your family to help try and get your brother through to the other side, but it sounds like you have tried a lot already

In this world, you are only responsible for yourself, you can help and ultimately persuade him that he’s in the wrong but his fate will be a consequence of the choices HE makes, not you and your family.

I do hope he pulls through for all your sakes, I imagine you’ll be a much happier family that way than in any other scenario. But if he continues down his current trajectory and you have done what you’ve can to stop him then you must relieve yourself of the guilt and must realize your brothers self destructive personality.
It’s a bitter, painful pill to swallow

>> No.20313093

>>20311842
I used to be in your brothers situation (Without the drugs) and all I can tell you is that your parents are 100% responsible for this shit. Now I'm not playing the victimhood card here, Im actually grateful for this as hitting rock bottom makes you either come out as a real man or stay like a big loser. It really depends on each person. But your parents really screwed something up during his childhood because this behaviour comes from somewhere. I agree with other anons: you guys fucked up by calling the police, you basically gave him 0 room to get back to normal. Yes, you tried a lot like drug rehabs but a child stays a child, once you become older you will realize the shit you have done. And if you want to change this, it won't be possible anymore as you grief the moment that your own parents and brother tried to screw you the moment things got heated (and now the rest of life is fucked as you can get no job anymore).

Let him hit rock bottom. If he has decent IQ, he will actually come out of it as a succesful person unironically.

My brother’s going through it now though, it’s not too serious at this moment in time but every day I hope he pulls through the same way I did and doesn’t throw his life away, or worse,

Let’s hope we all make it frens

As an ex-criminal druggie, I feel sorry for you. I started doing drugs at age 14, now I'm 27 and been sober for 8 months. Never poisoning myself again with ANY substance, it's truly horrible what they do to your mind.
It'll take two months for him to start thinking like a normal person again, just lock him up in a fucking cellar, and feed him a LOT. Good food was what helped me gain weight and video games to stay home. Cut ties with ALL former friends and social media, no exceptions.
Degenerates must go for him to succeed in life.
I wish you the best.

Came to say this. Not a lot to add.
Oh, there is one thing.
You need to be there for your family. Your parents are going to be worried sick and they will not be there for you like they should, you may begin to feel underappreciated, especially since you're the 'normal' one and all. You must suppress these thoughts. You will be fine, your brother needs love and attention, it's his only hope. Just be there for them, whatever happens, make sure they have all the support they need.

Your job as a brother is to give compassion and support, or ignore him if you really hate him and want him out of your life. You can call the cops if you think he is a danger to you. But being violent with him has no excuse. Especially saying shit in his ear, it shows that you did that out of hatred. But you're probably looking for validation in this thread, and you found it, which is a shame because most people here don't know what they're talking about.
