Mentally prepare yourself to lose the whole thing, or to have to sell at a significant loss. Don't fall victim to the "maybe I should have..." line of thinking. It just sends you into an anxiety death spiral.

Look, I've made impulsive plays without a backup before. It happens to the best of us, but whether you make it out of this one on top, let it serve as a lesson.

I've been doing more day trading than swing trading recently and the strategies are different, but even with swing trading I'd suggest you have an entry point, and a profitable exit or lossy exit. Sometimes if I'm up but I sense volatility or untenability at a certain level I'll sell early to lock in a little profit.
