I invested in Statera after reading this. Previously, I was on the fence, and had seen too many "revolutionary" projects to last a lifetime.

But this one is different. It's pretty much just basic maths. Worth it for the pool fees & BAL alone, because of the crazy volume which is created by having Statera in a Balancer Pool.

You don't just "get" 500k dollars and transfer it without any legal procedures, there is a process for these things so that you don't get fucked by the IRS for example. They can't just transfer such a large amount money to people immediately.

So this was just posted by Fernando on the balancer discord.

"Please be patient, we are already going out of the way, using hundreds of thousands of our company's treasury, to cover for a loss that many other teams would probably NOT have reimbursed.

That said, the process is a very complicated one: we need to open an account on an exchange to trade our USD from a conventional bank account to crypto, then we need to set up all the disperse to all hundreds (maybe thousands we still haven't set up the final reimbursement distribution list as we need to redirect the BPT that was held by contracts like Uniswap's pool).

Creating an account on an exchange for a business is EXTREMELY complex and bureaucratic. It takes a lot longer than for a private person. There are many inevitable legal KYC and AML procedures that need to take place. I'm doing MY BEST to speed up these things even if I would much rather be doing other stuff that would add value to Balancer protocol and its users.

So I would kindly ask you to please be patient as these processes don't have clear deadlines, so I can't give you a deadline either. Please let others in the STA community know if you have any channels. We can't give a deadline since the exchange can't also, but we are doing our very best. This will very very likely happen still this year, probably in the next 2 months. But I can't give you any time guarantees."

This makes it look like they're going to refund the same amount of tokens that were in the pools and not by $ value. Sounds good for us but shit for them is stuff moons. (SNX was like 1.70$ at the time of the hack and it's now 2.5$) Might have to fork out more way more than 400k.

I still think considering they have a fair share of not locked up BAL tokens it'd be quicker to use those to refund, but I guess they're doing all of this by writing it as a loss and not pay future taxes on gains?

I knew though the Statera team would make something happen, in the Telegram chat they were very engaged and with a strong positive attitude, i trust these guys way more than Sergay nowadays, especially after the last month of turbulences, so i will deposit it all back and move forward, no hard feelz at all.

Before the crash people were saying they would start pooling more around those prices but hold the rest.

If we ever start hitting those prices I'll probs pool like 1/5 at 50c or so and hold until 5-10 but of course these are only the wildest dreams. I'm in the top 30s and am counting on STA to be the one. Idc about small gains because I have a steady and relaxed job anyway so no pressure with money.
