>That conflicted feel when you stand to get about £2,000,000 in inheritance but the person just won't die

Obviously I don't want them to, they're great people and living to a good age, but yeah.

for doing absolutely nothing?

you stand to gain more than a minimum wage salary worth of interest
you'd never have to work again

It'll probably mostly get invested. Technically it's going to my family, but there's not that many of us and my Dad's giving me and my sister a chunk of it.

They're good people though, honestly. The guy used to develop technology for the US military in the second world war, putting Radar on planes and shit, when it was in its infancy.

why is that wrong?

i mean if you want kids, or you're bad with money, 2 million wouldn't last long at all.

for me though, all i buy is rent, groceries and books.
i'd be more than set for life. I've done the math.

Funny, that's what my dad does now. We don't have $2,500,000 though. Shame.

For what it's worth, they made that money investing well at the right time. It was mostly based on luck, and being a bit miserly.

Hence, "you" as in yourself.

2 million bong dollars can easily support one soleperson for the rest of their life.

Oh no, don't me wrong I actually agree that receiving 2 mil out of the blue is awesome. It's just that "set for life" part that's bugging me.

>>2633
It depends on your lifestyle/location of course, I was half joking with that post. But if you can't figure out why you can't live a middle class life on 2 million dollars for the rest of of your life in a metropolis(even on your own) then I suggest you leave. Or stay. Who am I kidding, nobody on this board knows jackshit anyway

Depends on lifestyle.
2 million pounds in London is peanuts.

>> No.3108

Are you somehow trying to implicate that getting 2 million for doing absolutely nothing is somehow not awesome. I bet even the mr. bigshot you're working for would be quite happy with that.

why don't you just tell me straight up, cause i'm not seeing your point

In the North East you could live for a long time on that.

>> No.3253

I know that feel, bro. Worst thing is that my dad is healthy.

>> No.3297

>>2941
I live in London, I don't make much money but I'm happy. 2 million would be easily equivalent to my annual salary for more than my natural remaining life.

The only issue would be any inflation that would happen in those remaining decades, so to adjust for that I would probably just put £500,000 on red and hope for the best.

I don't see why it would be a problem to live off that.

Live and prosper are two different things.
A good property with nice view in nice neighborhood costs more than 2 million.

Sure I too would like to get 2 million but it would just allow you to exist. Not to live.

>A good property with nice view in nice neighborhood costs more than 2 million.

Not in the North. I live in a comfy suburb on the seafront with a sea view. It's worth around £600,000 I think. Plus my parent's have paid off the mortgage.

I *just* said that I'm happy with my lot.

Maybe I am "living" and not just "existing" already. Who knows.

The North East of England. He was talking about Pound Sterling and London, so I figured that would be obvious.
