https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2020/06/23/2051668/0/en/Nokia-selected-by-TOYOTA-Production-Engineering-for-5G-private-wireless-network.html

Nokia (NOK) has been selected to provide 5G network services for Toyota Japan's manufacturing operations. Will this make the price skyrocket tomorrow?

So this is kind of interesting, previously there was a company called Ocado which had an army of warehouse robots that had extremely customized 4G LTE radios on a very finely tuned indoor 4G network. It works better than wifi for coordinating all the robots so that none of them are out of sync - they move extremely fast and any glitch would cause everything to halt and pile up like rush hour traffic.

The 5G systems are just a white label version of this that any company can theoretically buy to do the same thing and it beats wifi in crowded environments

But will this raise the price of NOK you reckon?

Probably since anybody who wants to use "concerted robotics" for lack of a better term will run into this communication problem at some point.

Other industrial machinery just uses wires though and probably always will use wires except in very large or wide chemical plants like DuPont or crude oil stuff or whatever

lol you dont know that a guy was working for Toyota Connect WHILE contributing to the chainlink pivitol during business hours? You dont think that every car company is looking to catch up to what tesla has rolled out in california and get into insurance and that the only way to do that is to upload data to trustless third party blockchains and they need oracles to make it work but first they need actual radios blasting that data so this article is just another brick in the wall that is $1kEoY

OMXH has been open for 15 minutes and NOK is already up 1.05% for the day
