I had a number of friends who i thought I had redpilled on blockchain and specifically chainlink in 2017-2018.
Turns out they didn't actually understand anything and were just chasing the gains I had during the bull run.

As time went on and things became more stagnant, every single one of them sold off for >>stocks<<

I tried bringing it up again recently and they just laughed at me. "I thought you said it was the future, why is it only $4?"
Tried explaining that everything I said back in 2017-18 was coming to fruition, where more and more projects and industries were beginning to understand the importance of decentralized oracles in an increasingly smart contract oriented world.
They just laughed again and told me smart contracts are a joke and will never catch on. Blows my mind, I gave them all of the links they needed to form the correct conclusion. Almost like they didnt even read a single thing I offered them.
Anyway blogpost over, normies will quite literally never understand until it is forced down their throat by mainstream media.

I quit my job and check the price and news every 15 minutes. Chainlink has ruined my life.
I'm just at the point where I'm on the edge of making it but not just yet. To think I would've made it already if this bullshit virus didn't happen. I just want to make it bros.

I tried convincing an internet friend a year ago about LINK and how it was the best investment we could make, he didn't care much. He went on putting money into BTC, ETH, XLM, XRP because his reasoning is, normies will fomo into these. We didn't bring up crypto for long until recently, and I explained how he is stupid for betting on dumb money, and he should instead bet on smart money. That's when he shifted half his portfolio into LINK for a 1k stack.

I tried explaining LINK to a cousin and he was afraid of investing into crypto because of BTC crashing from $20k to $3k. I am certain I could convince him to invest and maybe I should the next time I meet him.

You are completely right that normal people don't "get it". Even I don't fully grasp what Chainlink is, but being on /biz/ changes everything. The information shared here is immensely helpful. Something that would otherwise totally be out of reach for your average crypto investor. I feel that's part of the reason why I'm so confident and have no doubts about this project succeeding beyond our imaginations.

I only tell my closest friends what I'm invested in, and how I bought and held for 2 years.
After that it's up to them to do the research, since they know I'm smart and made good money. If that's not enough for them, I'm not going to spoonfeed them.
