I'm 34 with a college degree but I had pretty bad grades and never made a career out of it. Taught English overseas for years and managed to save some money. Now I have a baby on the way and not many job skills or opportunities. I wish I would've just learned a trade instead of wasting time and money in college.

unironically this. Women are great if you find the right one and she wants to build something greater. But the majority of current year woman and people in general want to live the instagram/social media fake lifestyle. I moved a few months before corona virus hit thank god but I was living in LA and made 100k a year. That sounds like a lot to most people HOWEVER in LA average CA income taxes for a single person is 30-35k, so you are down to 70k net. Then average rent for a 1 br or 2br a shared roomate is 1000-1500 (lets say 1250 a month) so youre down another 15k now your at 55k net. Food is easily 200 a month. another 2-3k down for the year. Then every normie wants to go to the bar or lounge every weekend so your entertainment budget is another 3k so you are now down to 45k net for the year. If you purchase a car(which you for sure would at this salary range) will be 300-400 - 1000 depending on retarded you are (again cause everyone is a faker they all have new leased bmws with 800+ a month payments) so your 45k is now down to 38k potential savings. Im sure you then also will blow another 10k on student loan and frivolous star wars toys so your down to 28k possible savings. This is where that final possible yearly savings evaporates. IF you are dating almost any girl their they expect you to pay for almost everything in their life... so that potential 28k is now 0. I saw through it immediately with the chicks there so I never got that involved and managed to save 150k cash in 6 years and just finally bailed to use that cash for investing and a house in a smaller suburb in a non shitty city.

These suggestions aren't too bad. Try to aim for jobs that require minimal time/money investment in education (short trade school or a few certifications) and can lead to a decent salary. I'm actually super proud of myself so I'll discuss what I had to solve even if no one cares- we need to wrap 500 feet of metal ribbon on a spool by winding it on a single layer. the problem was that the circumference gets incrementally larger with each rotation because of the thickness of the metal ribbon, so you can't just divide 500 ft/spool circumference. So I wrote a when loop that increases the circumference variable with each iteration, adds the new circumference to a variable that represents the total footage, keeps a counter of the number of iterations, then prints out the number of turns required once total footage hits 500ft. It might be super basic shit but I've only been studying for a month and I've already been able to use it for something.

Personally I need stimulants because I legit have adhd and have been using them for studying since I was 15. Fair warning if you do decide to get adderall prescribed or on the black market you will get hooked on it. Not necessarily physically but definitely psychologically. Once you use it for studying you won't be able to think straight or focus without it. It seems like you have no focus to begin with so that's why I suggested you try it out.

I mean it. I know you're looking for specific answers and suggestions and that's not so wrong of you to be seeking that but you should be taking action right now before you get that overlooming anxiety and depression from thinking about your line all over again.
I used to hang around with neets years ago, they were all lonely, virgins, had issues, etc. I never found those characteristics or bothersome but one of the things that pissed me off was this acknowledgement of what they lack and what they love and being scared of commitments. This could range from finding a woman to love to wanting to write their own book based on what they're passionate about to being scared of having to be honest and confessing they never worked in all their wasted years in their CV for a job.
Eventually, I've managed to convince some of them enough for them to lead normal lives though occasionally hanging around online or being on 4chan still to escape from normiehood too much. Yes, even the guys in their 30's so you are not as irredeemable as you think you are.
Start acting now. Look and apply for jobs even if it's rough out there, this can even mean internship/apprenticeship if you can do it. Start exercising, eat well, get a sleep schedule, make friends, get a hobby, take a break from this website for yourself time to time, there are so many things you can still do and they are all in your control, you just have to commit and keep at it.

Everyone thinks they have the basic idea. The ones that execute, get a decent job, and eventually buy a house. Then they keep doing what they were doing, and their boiler breaks. And then they pay that and just before getting hole, their cars transmission starts to act up. All of this continues ad nauseam until it's 30 years later and you're celebrating that you're finally done paying off your home, woo hoo! The problem is that you're now in your 60's, irrelevant professionally, and only have 5 years to make your lifes worth of cash before being stuck on the government teet as you rot away in every sense of the word.

I'm 31. Just finished going to trade school for welding. i am dealing with a back injury and when it flares up I am basically useless. First job, first week, major flare up because of heavy duty ironworking.
Now I'm sitting here wondering where I'll go and what I'll do. Thinking of going to India to learn to code because it seems to be the cradle of most IT genius' these days.
Bangalore especially, lots of bootcamps there.
Any thoughts? I'm from Canada.

Udemy currently has the beginner python lecture for free and it's only 9 hours or so. It should have notes and stuff too I believe? Python is a simple language, try it and see if it is for you.

Quite poetic reading through all the replies on this thread because it quite obvious there’s something missing in your guys life yet you manage to cope by telling yourself “had I only got a different degree, made x money, or done a trade.”

The poetic part is that deep down, you really have zero idea what it is in your life you are missing so you assume surrounding yourself with materials or working long hours in at a job making 300k would somehow satiate this void inside of you.

On your deathbed, do you believe that your final thoughts would be that you wished you had worked more hours, that you wish you would have made more money, that you wish you would have partied more, done more drugs, consumed more media, lived in a bigger house or driven a faster car? Ask yourself this question with all seriousness. Think about death. I mean really ponder about the idea of death and try to understand the idea that nothing in this life is ever permanent.

Think of every popular story, one which a hero emerges. Think of the similar archetypes that emerge from them. It could be iron man, Harry Potter, the lion king, or classic literature like the odyssey, Abraham religious books, the Epic of Gilgamesh etc. and what meta-philosophy do they all share? The hero who digs deeply into oneself and over comes their fears.

Think about a Dragon, a scary reptilian creature that is omnipresent and breathes fire. It’s an amalgamation of ones inner demons. Ones personal struggle. The hero is he who confronts the dragon and slays it. You cannot protect yourself by building a bigger castle, or hiding underground, or running away forever. The hero is revealed once that head of the dragon is cut off.

Life is about the journey. To live is to suffer, but to prosper is to find meaning in the suffering. Would you rather live with plentiful wealth and many externals, but miserable in mind? Or would you rather live with plentiful virtue but no materials to your name?

Maybe I should rephrase the question as such so you won’t be too hasty to turn your nose at me and act with a high brow. Just know I’m only giving honest advice that has helped me in my life. What you chose to do with it is your own free will, which is the beauty of life.

Does being broke really scare you? Or is it the judgement of being broke which is scary to man? In the same line of thinking, does death truly scare or a man or is it the judgement of death that is scary?

I was there too then became a plumber. Not going to say it was easy but way easier than I thought it'd be. 2 years later I'm a completely different person. Depressions gone, anxiety's gone. Helped me evaluate my life clearly, and cut out the toxic people leaching off me in life. I'm cracking jokes all the time too at work, and even though I'm the most junior guy in my crew everybody loves me.

Weirdest thing is how when I talk they all look and listen to me. When we're walking to our cars they gravitate around me unconsciously and I'm the middle of the group. I'm not used to this since I was like 10 years old. After that the despair took over my life and I isolated myself for years.
