Are people naturally good at buying high selling low?

>> No.19468127

Of course. When the investment pumps, people talk, make posts. Great gains, solid project, etc. Normal Norman reads all this and impulsively buys the top of the subtrend. Correction happens, or dump if pnd, and Norman panics and sells. All totally avoidable, had Norman had the diligence to do his own research. Thus giving Norman solidarity in the feeling that this was a good buy, even if he did buy the top of the trend. Voila! Norman just went from being an emotional investor to a logical one, now his success and failure rate will be determined by his ability to evaluate projects and he will get accurate feedback and improve his skills, instead of continually floundering about making financial decisions he has no logical involvement in.

Someone once said the stock market was a tool utilized to transfer wealth from the impatient to the patient.

I think it was our dear friend and poster-boy boomer Mr. Warren Buffett. It’s hard as fuck to fight the underlying psychology even when you know better

thats what /biz/ does
and most normies actually
I know a woman who is the peak normie. She only does "momentum investing", which for her means she buys stock after its gone up, and then sells when she sees it's gone down. most people do that shit unintentionally, but for her its a conscious strategy. "momentum investing" is a nice little term to cover up "buy high sell low"

I buy before pumps. I swing if there's data to support it.

Some of my biggest successes have been from fomoing in during a pump. You just got to then hold and see it out. A short term pump doesn't mean it's not gonna pump a fuck of a lot more later. Problem now is everyone in crypto is a 2017 newfag who have a bunch of TA meme ideas which will mean they will not see the big gains that are coming in alts. They will be busy booking 50% profits while reckless people will see 10000x gains on the right projects.

This is a perfectly rational strategy in bull markets. In bear markets it’s a good way to go broke. Good luck have fun

Momentum investing is literally the best strategy for the current volatile market. Most stocks aren't like crypto where they dump straight down right after a pump. If you're just holding, you'll miss a lot of opportunities and make far less money.

Binance's OCO setups have saved me quite a few times.

Groups know the psychology that works to make you buy some garbage asset. If its posted here, the best you can do is try to ride the wave, and get out before it's too late. I use the Order Cancel Order to set a stop-loss as well as a take profit. I've missed a few runs, but it's saved me more times.
