It's almost as if people don't realize that if the unemployment bonuses and fed relief stops, most people will shrink back to not spending much if at all, while also relying on unemployment (which won't be at its current $700+ values anymore, and a lot of people won't be eligible at all). Yes the market will still be bullish over time but there's going to be a slight correction once the unemployment money runs out.

>a slight correction
if there's no additional stimulus in the form of CARES tier gibs, this shit's probably going to be a fucking bloodbath. The increased pressure in the form of CPI inflation will anally rape a lot of these CARES fuckers who are likely applying a good amount of upward pressure here. Unironically, higher equity prices going into Q3 might spell the worst case scenario for poorfag retail. They might get the bag dropped on them by funds looking to derisk from their regulated rebalancing that happened end of March. Odds are that their spending habits have not changed, re-employment will be slow/hours cut and it's just going to be a real mess. If their investments are deducted from their net worth, they have likely not been saving at all. They're hardly floating and still covered with CC debt and other really bad shit if the economy doesn't come back into full swing in two months. not that this affects prices, but poorfags might actually get devastated.

The reason bears can't wrap their puny little minds around the V shaped recovery that we're seeing is simple. They are buying into the Democrat and media narrative, and ignoring reality. Whether we see a second wave due to reopening or not, it doesn't matter. Have you mustered up your courage, changed your piss soaked pants, and stepped outside recently? Stores are packed, parks and beaches are overrun, Americans are ready to return to normalcy. People are working and spending again, and a second wave won't stop that, because those who die of coronavirus are largely not an essential part of the economy. They are old or ailing, with very very few healthy young people dying. If you still believe that a dump is coming, you are living in a fantasy land. Quit watching the fear mongering news. Quit listening to politicians who have massive incentive to keep everything closed, and will be unaffected by the consequences. Start using common sense.

Okay i guess the kindling has been lit sufficiently now. Why did i go heavily long on airlines last week? Two reasons: 1. Short ppsition percentage was very high. 2. Analysis of volume on several of the airlines indicated to me large sums of money had begun accumulating the lows, presumably as long term holds. This made the short side of the daily volume vulnerable. That is why airlines are mostly double digits green today. And also why they could continue to run for a little while yet baring bad news raining on the parade.

Trump said last month there's enough ventilators for every boomers, so I'm sure the government is already prepared for a situation similar to that. It's old news.

Oh by the way since everyone is now talking about the second wave this early, I'm sure the government already has plans for stimulus package to prevent mass hysteria. Yeah which means more trumpbux coming to us.

It's ICU cap. as long as we don't have normal activity and typical ICU admission, we should be ok to manage corona, evident by NYC, but the process of managing them together is going to call for a rather slow reopening.

I'm talking about suppiles for rural communities and inner cities. You know, the relief stuff the army is currently providing to various places. Physical actual goods and supplies, not magic screen numbers. It has to be available for them to buy it, and they're so incompetent that the supply chain has broken down temporarily due to their regulations and stipulations, causing entire generations of pigs to be killed off and buried rather than slaughtered while there's a meat shortage in parts of the country, for instance.
The feds are too incompetent to live and overregulate everything, they desperately need common morons to inefficiently run and work for businesses to do literally everything for them, because they are too fond of making stupid and inconsistent rules so the private sector still does 100x better at nearly everything it tries.
The state governments just run like mini feds taking money from the fed and letting the fed tell them what to do, for the most part. Except for when it comes to protecting criminals, if they're California.

It wasn't even close. The closest was New York. For most people it just translated to most shops that weren't grocery stores were closed for a few weeks and then restaurants became pick up only.

What disruption? EVERY place is trending downwards, including places without lockdown like Japan, Sweden, Georgia. The evidence that lockdown worked, isn't strong at all. It seems like the virus has reaches saturation point already.

we can look at most other places too and see that there are outbreak zones. NYC is a bit special, but corona kinda blooms almost, overwhelming local resources. Again, we'll probably see that mobile set of supplies get used. All states are going to be opening slow because we need to prevent that ICU overburden.
