How viable is buying a manual sports car for daily driving?
Asking /biz/ because /o/ is bunch of poorfag busriders.

I was looking at used 981 GT4 and they fit my budget.
How good is it for a babby's first Porsche?

Pretty good desu if you have nothing to carry really and no kids. Also if you run a business you might not want to show off to your clients if you're the one seeing them or selling to them. Anyway gt4 should be a good choice but i would still go for a corvette at this price point or a 991

Pretty retarded honestly. Just get a Tesla model 3 as your daily driver (if you are still trying to impress others) and then get a GT3 Cup for track days. They can be had for under 90k.

I respect corvette's performance but not a fan of those lines.
I'm always reminded that whenever I try to get the cayman, people tell me they are just gimped 911.

I don't want an electric car. I prefer how the mechanical engine sounds and drives. It's about the spirit and the character of the car.

I agree with you, but you are asking if a manual transmission track car (albeit an entry into that scene) is a good daily driver. I am telling you it is not. Do what you want though.

GT4 is not the most practical but I've fallen in love with it. Market wise, doesn't seem like it wouldn't be too bad to drive for it for couple of years then sell if I don't like the car.

Are you going to pay attention to your gears every moment of the drive.
Do you know jack shit about manual.
Do you want to risk rearending someone because you didn’t shift in time.
All of those are yes or no questions.

I'd prefer an exige, faster than the
Gt4 but slightly less practical. Will be cheaper to run and more exciting to drive though. And depreciate less

But I thought you loved the car? Honestly don’t waste your money since you clearly lack critical thinking skills.

It's a good car. If you really love driving then you'll love having it as a DD.
If you're not dead-set on a Porsche, though, at least check out a new F-Type R AWD. It's fucking exhilarating taking corners, and the exhaust is pure kino

It's pretty shit if you commute in bumper to bumper traffic. Otherwise it's great. I mean that unironically.

you want a fucking GT4 as a daily driver?
either you posted this as bait, or you are those "FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT" instagram guys.

a 981 GT4 is not a daily driver. it has hard as fuck LSD, making the car shift like rally cars.

the car has been stiffened all around as well as the lowered height, can't just stroll around parking lots / neighborhoods

why the gt4?

+ this

Don’t be edgy

Drive auto around town

Save manually for the track or highway

I drive a lotus as a daily driver. I don't get these pussies that say they can't drive a car with hard suspension as a daily driver... Are you some fat boomer with sciatica who's never seen the inside of a gym or something? Man up and stop being a fucking faggot

>> No.19323941

Driving manual as a millennial in the 2000's was rewarding. It probably still is but with the way society is now, people are so rushed and impatient. The enjoyment of life is gone. Everyone is dead inside and you'll be dealing with so much jealousy. I would still do it though but I can't imagine you'll be enjoying your life as much as I was when the world wasn't such a toxic place and so much of that toxicity is experienced when on the road with poorfags and spent whores.

Manual cars are fine, never got the "sucks to drive in traffic meme". You wouldn't even notice that you're shifting and shit once you're good at it. But I agree with other anons in here saying that buying a supped up sports cart with a really low suspension is not good for a daily driver.

How do you not get it?
>car in front slows down
>clutch in, brakes on
>car in front comes to complete stop
>more brakes, coming to a stop
>car in front goes again
>clutch out, release brake, add gas, but just a tiny bit as you release clutch cause the car in front is going 4mph
>repeat 8000 times as you crawl home in your sweet corvette
or
>lol gas makes go brake makes stop
