Get a second job and sock away as much money as possible. First goal should be $100k in quality stock and a small (1 br) rental property. If you can get that locked down before you hit 30, you’re set.

1. Don't spend more on your credit cards than you can pay off every month
2. Contribute to your 401(k) up to your full employer match, then save additional money in an IRA (combined up to 10% of pre tax income)
3. Save lots of money every month, pay down high APR loans early
4. Budget for fun stuff, eating out, vacations, etc. instead of just spending indiscriminately out of your main checking account
5. Your biggest salary increases will come by taking a better job at a new company. Work hard, be chill and friendly at the office but your company has no loyalty to you and you shouldn't to them either so don't feel bad when the time to jump ship comes
6. Pace yourself, don't be the dumbass who works through lunch at his desk, don't put in extra time if you're not getting paid for it

I was able make it 2 years before my parents started making me pay “rent”. Basically don’t be a bum and they probably won’t mind.
Make sure your hobbies don’t totally take over the house/ interfere with other people’s shit.
