No wonder Facebook is broken beyond belief.
- My account still has a ghost notification I cannot get rid of.
- Things like "suggested appointments" in messenger (dumb "feature" btw) are totally broken and even make the message disappear in basic web view (used by wap phones)
- Lack of basic functionality like:
- turning off calls, makes having messenger annoying, people can randomly call you, if I only didn't need it for work I'd uninstall it
- or searching messages. The feature used to exist (I used to use it to search for invoice numbers my page sent to customers), but one day it just stopped working... now the messenger search only works properly for names. Retards at the helm.

...among other things.
With people like her getting in, I'm surprised these buggy sites/apps aren't completely breaking at all.

There are a bunch of small things but the worst thing I've seen happen is for someone to disable the testing step in the build pipeline to be able to merge their changes into our main code base, and then re-enabling it afterwards.

This basically broke builds for everyone else, but the worst part is that this code that didn't pass the tests went out to production ;)

This is the tricky part. If you don't have a degree you need to have some kind of personal projects to show off, or at least a few years of experience at some random software shop. Reach out to your network and see if you have anyone that can refer you as well - that's a good way to shortlist the interview track.

Apple products are so easy to use that my retarded coworkers who can't even use Microsoft Excel properly all have iPhones. The other day a woman came up to me because she needed my help copying and pasting a link that she wanted to send to someone. They don't even know what the fuck Ethereum is, and they definitely wouldn't be able to figure out how to use it to secure their namespace on a distributed meme network. Urbit is going to have a very difficult time making themselves accessible to normalfags. Maybe it is like the internet in that regard, really difficult to use at first but gradually becoming more ubiquitous. I do own a few stars as suicide insurance but it's a longshot.

I think for the average normie, key management will be sort of like using coinbase. So, either the average person chooses to let Tlon hold their root key and never takes possession of it, or they have it printed out in a safe deposit box somewhere. And that's fine. If the project is successful, they should never need to re-key.

As for hosting, I emphatically disagree that letting Tlon host for you is no different than the current situation. For that to be the case, it would be equivalent to AWS datamining its running EC2 instances.
