The network kills more people (killed with more reports) and almost twice as many missed as last time (suspended count). These increases alone account for 220 identities that would've potentially been here. That's your 10% growth that wasn't.
Without the hard fork we'd probably been at 5% growth @ 100 new or something like that. Just a bump on the road imho but I can see how someone new would freak out
