Feel free to ignore my input since I'm a novice at this stuff and only started trading this month, but I put money in the hard drive manufacturers western digital and Seagate. I'm personally happy with the two so far.

I figure with the growing hype around smart devices and various "Internet of things" buzzwords, that there is going to be lots of growth of devices generating data and that there will in turn be growing demand to store that data.

Western digital has been growing better than Seagate over the course of the month, but Seagate has better dividend returns.

I need to do my homework and pick some more blue chips in other industries to spread out my long term stuff.

I also have money in Ruger, but that's based around my feelings instead of any kind of logical analysis. Well, apart from the thinking that gun sales are inversely proportional to the security of gun rights. Trump's election was a victory for gun rights and pushed gun stock prices down for me to buy now, and I can depend on them to spike again the next time the commies stage their next false flag to make their next big attempt to strip us of our Constitutional rights.

Western Digital and Seagate are like the Coke and Pepsi of data storage. Damn near every device needs a hard drive for long term data storage and generally one of those two made it. The companies are sticking around for the long haul.

Isn't that what you're supposed to look for in long term buys? At least conservative long term positions? Companies that are extremely unlikely of going out of business and generally trend up? I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a moon mission or anything from them.

Western Digital and Seagate are major players in the solid-state market. Samsung makes some good products and and there are some high performance models from other manufacturers aimed at enthusiasts like gamers and people addicted to overclocking, but my bet is that when solid-state drives become more mainstream that most normies will be buying drives have western digital and Seagate stickers on them. Or more likely they'll be buying new devices that will have WD and SG drives already installed in them.

There is also still lots of demand for inexpensive archival storage, especially cloud storage off in data centers.

I know that data storage isn't anything new. It's boring and safe. That's why I picked it. There are probably more ambitious long term positions with better prospects for bigger payouts but I'm too inexperienced to see them.

Although if someone were looking to settle into a long term position, they should probably wait for a sale. Ryan-care blowing up last week put a lot of stocks on sale. I wouldn't be surprised if some other event with the Trump administration causes another big dip. My money's still on Trump winning bigly in the long term though.

For example if you got $10000 and buy 1000 shares at $10 because you're certain it will go to $14 but it bottoms at 6k First... If you wait it out to $14 you can earn 4K,
but if you take it off at $9 lose 1000 and renter at $7 with 1280 shares, well then you Net $8000 when it goes to 14. it's usually unlikely to not be able to get a lower price than where you cut your loss

If you want my opinion, it's hype. Analysts are shouting a par price of 10 dollars, but with the president of the boards history, it's slightly doubtful.

Jim Bochnowski, on the other hand is a very capable business man which makes this memestock actually legitimate, possibly to even a 100-200% gain by the end of the year.

The merger is fluff, and if you want my opinion, wait for it to bottom out and throw a couple hundred to go long. JAGX can accend into an actual stock w/the merger, but it's depending on how greedy shorters are.
