Financially I was more focused on moving my assets into Ethereum when this all started. It never occurred to me that the Right to Travel Freely would be revoked. Since it is now impossible to get a passport I see this as my only option.

Technically if I just made it to a certain nation is Asia I could get citizenship due to relatives. Is spending ~28 days at sea in a small sailboat a good idea frens? Am I going to make it?

I want to leave this clown nation before HB 6666 or worse passes and Amerimuts start chimping out. The Orange man is literally talking about using to army to help distribute the vaccines. I would rather die at sea then stick around to watch this dumpster fire burn.

plz help frens I am literally going to do this.

People have crossed the pacific or atlantic with 20ft boats every month, not all models can do it tough , nearly all sailboats 34 ft more can cross big oceans but nearly no boat 20-22 ft can do it , but a few models have done it many times , it's all about weight distribution of the boat design.

Yes 22 catalina is suicidal for big oceans.

Catalina 27 is possible but i assume you are burger so you could check for the island packets.

They are slow as fuck from what i read but they are designed for big oceans due to their weight(waves can't turn them) so slow but safe.

Island packet 26 or 27 cheap as fuck could do it , also there is a lot of 1970s- 1980s boats that can cross ocean due to their design(newer models tend to use cheap as fuck keels to sail in the coast not safe for oceans).

Check this site for cheap boats of this category

This is suicidal. SUICIDAL. Ok? For someone with no sailing experience, absolutely suicidal. For those of you encouraging this you should be ashamed.

I drove cross country once from coast to coast. I DROVE. And I had time constraints. And it was tough. I could not imagine what sailing out in the middle of the fucking ocean would do to you. Understand this OP.

YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN OUT THERE
YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN

There is no coast guard. There are no people out there in the Pacific that will help you. None. All you will have is Hawaii. And considering the country is shut down you will have limited access to resources.

It's the fucking ocean. Get it? This is not even driving. When I drove cross country, it was real tough. I drove it blind under duress, and it demanded my time and attention span. I could not imagine being out at sea for ~30 days or however long it would take, alone, without any experience.

You *will* die out at sea. Just navigating and controlling a boat takes skill and effort that you dont have.

not exacly true. i picked up a hitchiking swede in tochigi back in 2016 and he and his mates just tried sail from denmark to usa going in blind. he said they capsized after two weeks and spent days on the hull and were just raw spotted by a passing ship. no epirb or anything. i guess thats about a 1/10 million luck though. i dropped the dude off to get a ferry to korea. he had 300 bucks to his name which he said was just enough to buy a horse in mongolia and ride across asia through winter then walk from turkey to sweden. would love to know what happened to that dude.

Breh. It takes longer than that just to get to Hawaii. It's been done before but is super risky, especially if you're an inexperienced sailor. Just read about Bas Jan Ader, a famous photographer who tried to cross the Atlantic on a small boat and disappeared.

I would get a visa so that I wouldn't get arrested. With GPS I imagine I wouldn't get lost. I would bring ton of fuel, water and food with me. In what time could a motorized boat cross the atlantic?

I'm not retarded, I would do ton of research and do some small practice sailing before setting off.

Guppy the 7.2 meter Hurley 700 was built in 1979. She bought it in 2007, making it 28yrs old at the time, but in good condition.

You don't motor across the Atlantic. You won't have enough fuel. You motor in and out of marinas or to get out of trouble. When new power only catamarans are delivered from say South Africa to the US and they are not stacked on a ship, sometimes they are motored from there to the Azores for a fuel top up but they carry a shit tonne which is not practical normally and literally use one of the two engines but these guys are absolute pros. I'll say it again, you will not use engine power to cross the Atlantic. You need to conserve your fuel. As for water you use an onboard water maker.

You have gps etc but also need AIS which warns you of other boats in the area because you CANNOT sleep the whole night. Maybe a couple of hours max on autopilot because you have to keep watch and make sure the alarm wakes you. This is why night sailing is ideally done with a few people who will take it in turns. You cannot just go to sleep and hope a tanker doesn't plough straight through you.

Slow suicide. You'd die in the first squall. If you somehow managed to limp into certains waters, you'd be killed by pirates, either off the coast of Africa, or in the south China seas. And, you'd need a blue water license and training, learning to navigate, and all of the steps towards blue water sailing. The boat you posted is a lake cruiser for boomers. You have no clue what it takes for ocean travel, and the time and money to get there.

And, your ass would be thrown in jail for showing up onshore in any asian country with no valid passport. The US is NICE to illegal aliens compared to other countries, especially Asia.

you'll never make it across that much ocean in a boat like that.
you'll for sure die at sea.
even if you were a seasoned sailor the ocean isnt friendly to vessels of that size, like at all.
if you could find something 50ft you'd have better chances but again you'd need to be a master of the wind, navigation, and the waves.
and good luck with a sea anchor and sleeping for a few hours in a boat that size, the majority of ppl cant sleep bc of the waves unless you are used to it.
it isnt like the movies and if you get caught in a storm your chances of survival drop significantly.
