Except they didn't, the longs are gonna get wrecked, and the spot price will fucking tank in a flash crash.

90% of these longs are in profit rn

>> No.19104060

doesn't that mean they're going to hold?

>> No.19104081

No. It means they will get liquidated. The herd is always wrong, mate

meh bitfinex only allows low-margin trades. they're probably less than 2x on average, almost like buying spot.

>The herd
bitch, does this action really look like "the herd" to you?
That is 1 single entity doing a mad make or break degen gamble.

>> No.19104121

And again, that single entity is in profit rn. Look at the dates when the big longs were made and look at the prices then.

it says nothing about the number of traders, only about the amount of money long on eth. big players are usually right.

>> No.19104129

>>19104106
The number of individuals doesn't matter per se, brainlet. What matters is where the money is at. Right now it is disproportionately stacked up in longs, therefore exchanges are incentivized to dump the price to oblivion in order to liquidate.

Tremendously brainlet tier statement. See >>19104129

exchanges don't give a flying fuck, and certainly no exchange would dare to try crash ETH by 50% just to liquidate 373m worth of longs holy shit. i cannot phantom how fucking retarded you have to be to believe that.

>> No.19104196

This has been constantly being talked about for over a year now, even before the big longs were made. So far it has been a big nothingburger with price itself swinging wildly 70% on either direction and no cascading liquidations.
At this rate looks like if ETH price were to drop under $40, we should be getting worried about liquidations.

frens for bitmex the trading is p2p so for every buyer there must be a seller so how could the ratio be anything but 50/50... also how does it work for other platforms. Can anyone explain it to me because I'm dumb

These are not just ordinary sells/buys, these are leveraged positions. I am not going any further in explaining, you are on your own.

Longs hort/ratio are usless:
>if it was so easy every retard would just use this as indicator
>its important WHERE are logn s open
>its important whats the levrege
(for example i have one open at 0.016 on 2x pls liquidate me)
>>19104129
Ofc it matters you think 1 or 2 omegawhales are there to donate arthour money?
It can be insider or consensys itself before relising some big news it hapend before
Alos exchanges are not incentivized to dump the price to oblivion in order to liquidate they dont make money from liquidation, counter trades do, exchandge makes money either way

FUCK you are dumbest perosn on biz lol and bar is so fucking low congratulations on this seriously

long:short ratio does not historically predict price movements. if anyone actually looked at the numbers they'd know this.
