Sell me on Monero. Can you actually use this shit?

I don't give a shit about speculating on crypto, just tell me which one is actually getting used as a currency and isn't just going to dump overnight as soon as I buy in.

Monero is the only private crypto. It has shown long term fundamental growth (see pic related) despite the bear market and it is gaining market share on the dark net. It is the crypto most like digital cash because it is fungible, meaning 1 monero will always equal 1 monero (other cryptos have issues with coin taint due to their transparent ledgers).
possible future use cases of monero include a "swiss bank on steroids", avoiding taxation, avoiding surveillance, avoiding oppression
in short, Monero is what normies think Bitcoin is.

I've used it for anonymous donations and such. Wallet software is easy to use, and XMR donation addresses are about as common as BTC addresses these days. The real proof that it wasn't a meme was when the DEA killed AlphaBay and couldn't uncover the amount of XMR transacted.

Yea man, the retarded asshole need to be spoonfed kids dumping their savings into crypto post 2018 still don’t understand what monero is and those that do seem to all think the dark net is dead or something because they read a buzzfeed article. Shit will probably moon but maybe something better comes around.

That's right anon, I don't own any Monero. Prove me wrong.
>protip: you can't

Believe it or not, Monero is probably the most used coin for actual commerce (or rapidly catching Bitcoin), because the majority of actual commerce that people bother using cryptocurrency with is stuff that the banking system won't deal with, e.g. buying drugs online. It really doesn't seem like its adoption as a means of exchange has much effect on the price, though, it's still mostly following Bitcoin like everything else.

Anyone share my moonshot dream, that one day Satoshi recognizes Monero as the best successor to his vision and publicly atomic swaps his Bitcoin to Monero? It seems like there are several things he overlooked in the original whitepaper that weren't obvious problems until later, and Monero addresses almost all of them.
>Mining centralization
He wanted Bitcoin to be "one-CPU-one-vote", but Bitcoin is now one-ASIC-one-vote, while Monero's RandomX PoW is a novel solution to this problem.
>Block size
He talks about Moore's Law in the whitepaper, so I think his opinion is that block size could increase over time because computer hardware and networking becomes more efficient over time. But he didn't realize that requiring a protocol change to modify the size would never survive the politics around the issue.
>Capped supply
He didn't foresee the game theory issues that arise once miner rewards come from fees only. Monero solves this with a small linear tail emission.
>Privacy
Monero's primary claim to fame. I think he really overestimated Bitcoin's privacy in the whitepaper and this is more obvious when we have blockchain analysis companies and KYC regulations at almost all fiat onramps.
