there are 30 million people unemployed (most temporarily) with many more to come this month. Most of the economy is closed because liberal cunts want this flu to ruin Trumps chances of re-election. Some interesting info if anyone didn't know it:
VTIQ - once the merger is done the shares will be swapped on a 1 to 1 ratio. So 1 share of VTIQ would be 1 share of new company. The new company's mkt cap is over 3 billion. They've already got a shit load of back orders in place. VTIQ's ticker will be switched to new company ticker NKLA. Said merger is to close on June 2nd

I watch people analyse charts and say such a pattern is bullish or bearish because how it looks and trades will move in a certain direction

It gets me wondering if its a self fulfilling prophecy and stocks just act that way because everyone else sees that pattern rather than it meaning anything in underlying sentiment/fundamentals, especially with HFT algos etc these days - maybe it meant something more in the past

/biz/ could probably meme a new TA indicator (cunny bobo divergence momentum spread) and get stocks to move on it if it became widespread purely because it exists

What people don't seem to understand is that the algos are the ones making this market move and those algos follows rules... and those rules are TA based. That's why traders aim for major levels because that's most likely where algos will start re-buying again. So for example, if you pull up the ES chart you can clearly see that they bought 2840 (wicked down to 2833) which is the level to hold before we test the 2822 low. So in order to continue holding the uptrend we have to hold this level since testing the low usually means they will smash through it

>Redistribution of wealth through government force, like what is happening to the people right now.

These corporations are private. The government doesn't own or run them. Private individuals are the ones benefiting off of this. What redistribution of wealth? The wealthy are getting wealthier, how is this any different than the capitalist status quo?

Redistribution of wealth through government force is communism, not socialism. And it clearly is not happening right now. If every corporation was nationalized and they equalized the salaries regardless of your job title and education then I might agree with you.

>Remember that definition of socialism as different meanings to different people.

While socialism is a very complicated subject there are clear cut definitions that fit whichever theory it's part of. What you said does not even come close to any kind of theory and it's just generic Americanism. Whenever you confront Americans with any kind of ideas that go against their "culture" they just go "M-muh socialism!" without even understanding what the fuck it means.

>> No.19050944

Good question. We're in a really odd spot right now with respect to the business cycle and the phased re-openings. My plan is to wait until we start to see movement out of the defensive sectors that have been holding us up and into the more battered down sectors that have yet to recover. I'd like to see more parallel recovery between those sectors and the main indices, not just having the main indices propped up by tech and healthcare. That will be a good enough indication to me that the markets are factoring in both an economic and equities recovery and are willing to take more risk. If we get another leg down, then I'm assuming it will be somewhere near capitulation.
