Look for opportunities in international business particularly Africa or adjacent countries that are resource rich. Corporations are doing heavy extraction and French is the national language of many places. Also, consider the military. Linguists are essential. Since teaching while in Spain will be my primary job during the week, what are some side gigs I can do in Spain? Not really asking for get rich quick because that sounds like bullshit. Since I’ll be completely alone out there, it should be easier to dedicate my entire life to making money or at least learning how, preferably through smart investments. My dream job has always been working for the military internationally. but since I’m schizo I can’t join. I guess freelancing is still an option?

better yet, get a masters in tesol, max out on student loans, and go teach in the arabic countries or in hong kong or other high paying countries for TEFL, or go the intenational school route.

You're fucked dude, spain has some of the worst future prospects in the world right now. Since you're going to spain I can tell you that your wage will be shit and your loans will collect interest while you make the minimum payments because you're teaching in the 3rd world and you'll just be even deeper in the hole. If usd falls you can bet your left testicle euro will crash twice as hard. As far as a financial future you have none unless you move back in with your parents to save on rent and get two full time jobs to pay off your loans as quickly as possible. In your situation you have to fix your past before you can even think about a future.
