You’re going to need it to hit 18 + your option contract price. So if you initially paid 0.28 you’re going to need the stock to hit 18.28 to break even exercising the contract. Any amount over that you multiply by 100 shares. So if it hits 18.50 on May 1 you made $22 exercising. But if your contract is worth .54 today you could sell it to make $26.
