define win.
no project is going to win except ethereum.
People just gravitate to the platform with best rates that they consider safe.
Dex liquidity is shared and people use aggregators.
There are no barriers of entry at all.
Competition is going to force fees (extracted by the platform) to near zero everywhere.

most erc-20 tokens are open source. You can make that argument for any coin.

Compound has insurance and coinbase custodian.

Aave has flash loans.

dydx has 5x leverage

Maker mints dai

They are all finding a way to separate themselves from the pack

it has nothing to do with being open source, but how easy it is to capital to move.
>Aave has flash loans.
dydx had flash loans first and still has them. aave just aggressively shills it after the bzx hack, even though the attacker used dydx
>Maker mints dai
I'm not sure how much of an advantage that is. People that want to go margin long anything can just borrow usdc instead.

I don't see an option for "all scams" on that survey, so I'll be abstaining from it.

honestly, there's the possibility that all of them "win" in a sense, just like theres the possibility that JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Deutschebank, and CME all "win" and exist.

to extend that off the cuff analogy:

>Maker is JP Morgan. it was around the longest, its big, everyone knows WHAT it is, its not complicated, no matter how retarded it is, it will probably survive
>Compound is Goldman Sachs. you don't have to like them, but institutions are attracted to it because it just has a winner/chad attitude and has absurd inside connections. your bankers banker will always go back to Compound, even if you know you're getting a bad rate. it can't die.
>Aave is Deutschebank. its foreign, its low rent, there's some bad skeletons in the closet, but it will do business with anyone, and let you get weird. Trump uses it. It will blow up and relaunch twice.
>dYdX is CME. its an exchange, its fast, its fun, its loose, the guy in charge is probably crooked and will get his wife a senate seat to insider trade with.

to rank which tokens you should buy:
1. COMP (its going to rip when it launches)
2. MKR (I mean, whats the worst that can happen)
3. dYdX (lol jk, they are gonna keep all the money for themselves, there is no token)
4. LEND (hahah)
