It’s easy to say that now.
Back then btc was an actual meme coin and that guy in his head was taking a 5x return on his money, a solid call really.
Let’s be honest he will have bought back in after it hit $8, he could have DCA into it and may have hundreds of btc as we speak.

these stories should not be nightmare fuel. 99.99% of holders back then would have sold at the first serious pump.

never feel bad about exiting at a profit. absolutely nobody thought BTC would be 20k USD in 2017
especially 20k in 2017 and then 7k in 2020

you can wait 30 years without it hitting 20k again. or it hits it in 2021.
but let me remind you that in 2017 btc at least had increased adoption and actual usage. plus a horde or normies that probably won't be suckered in again.

also tether printing money out of thin air that doesn't exist, pumping btc
i think crypto have their best years behind and will probably exit completely this year

>china literally creating its own standalone digital currency
Yeah bro crypto, and industry worth more than many countries GDP, is just going to up and vanish. Those electric power plants that are mining btc at night, yeah they will just say fuck it. Every piece of technology and effort that has went in to getting this far, everyone is going to forget about it. The US gov that is starting to build framework laws to govern it, yeah thats because tomorrow everyone is just going to market sell and the network will screech to a halt.

It means that future rises in value need to be accomplished by increased adoption of crypto as actual currency. 2017 was a peak based on dumb normies buying in trying to get rich.
I don't think things are going in the right direction, with BTC increasingly associated with scams and fewer merchants accepting crypto than they did a few years ago.

If the crypto tards haven't hard pushed crypto as something that is solid and real during these troubled times and made an UNBELIEVABLY easy way to use it..
Then they are all just vying to be the new bullshit digital one world currency for the IMF rather then something that can be used byh everyday jagoffs.

I want to have at least 30 bucks in crypto to trade with someone at any one time.

Yes.

In all seriousness, crypto will live on as means of transferring value outside the banking system (person A buy crypto for fiat -> transfer -> person B immediately exchange for fiat). As a speculative asset, not so much. As more and more laws catch up to crypto and it comes like stocks/shares it'll become more and more true.

>>18701772
Not to forget the wall of normies that bought into BTC at 18k or 19k USD that will immediately exit and tank the price if it ever gets close to 20k ever again.
