people on here think they're smart because they take big risk investments and then they pay off, once.

I get the feeling that a lot of people on this site know basic trading terms like puts, calls and shorts, but they don't know more fundamental stuff like what an IPO is the difference between common and preferred stocks, Wall Street Bets is like this too. (although not as bad, there are a swathe of people there that know what their talking about.)

Memes aside, your not cool or a badass or anything else because because you placed a margin or a risky short, your fucking stupid, most people on here have a about 1000$ they'll put on a risky stock or some memecoin because they read on a hungarian basket weaving forum thay it would moon, some people on here and WSB place risky margins and shorts they DON'T have the finances to cover. Some people here put $1000 dollars on the market because they learned 5 or 6 terms here or there thinking they're going to play the market but also aren't smart enough to think having an emergency is important because things actually happen in real life where you need to pay for something fast.

If your serious about investing don't come here, I come for the memes and because occasionally someone will post good advice or a perspective I hadn't considered, also it's important to see other peoples perspectives on the market because there's always things you don't know and parts of the picture you can't see, and there are some people who can see the big picture of something much better than you. (I'llsee posts on /r/investing from people referencing experience from their profession, like someone who an oil contractor explaining what's happening in the the oil market right now.)

Mostly I will go to /r/investing or /r/finance on reddit, but I'll also look at opinion articles from places like investopedia, I also wheck WSB sometimes and here but honestly /biz/ is the bottom of the for financial advice, don't come here.
