The real question is if commodities can be fucked with to this extent, what's stopping some madman from trading huge futures contracts on housing materials and crashing the housing market when he can't pony up and cover the costs and storage for all the lumber and stuff?

Or doing it with semiconductor parts and crashing the prices of computers? Or chickens? Fuck, where would they put the chickens if someone took out a billion dollar contract on chickens?!
