Why do people seem more found of selling cash covered puts, than they are of selling covered calls? Especially in this market. Isn't it better to pick a stock that is covid crash resistant, and sell modest calls at "yea right" prices every week unless your are expecting something nice to happen on an earnings call/event? As long as strike isn't hit, you are collecting premiums and if the stock plummets, your were fine holding anyway, and you can sill just sell calls forever and ever. I mean it's inevitable that many companies will report lower revenue.

It's minimum $100k over here (banks refuse anything under 20% and you need to make ridiculous money for them to accept 20%, even though legally the limit is 5%. Meanwhile the smallest crack house is >$500k).
Moreover, in your scenario, such a rich person must also be working the kind of job that was cut during corona-chan. The only possibility is that the person involved is sitting on a mountain of cash not built by themselves.
As previously mentioned, you can't just save 100k through hard work, that would be too easy. If you make 45k/year and have 120k in the bank, the bank will still deny you a 350k mortgage for which you would be committed to make a 40% downpayment (the only way to get a >25-years mortgage) because you "don't make enough money". Except 350k houses haven't been a thing since 2008 here, and they were a lot more easygoing on mortgage back then.

Lockdowns don't disappear overnight, measures are retracted slowly in reverse order of their applications (so they will be retracted as e.g. lockdown -> stay-at-home -> border -> everything). Each step takes time. The goal is to avoid a 2nd wave by watching what's going on as things go back to "normal". It also takes, according to best estimates so far, approximately 2 months of hardcore lockdown (so probably more like 4-6 months in most countries) to quell the disease locally, so lockdowns are guaranteed for the next 3 months at the absolute minimum, and more realistically 6+ months. This is not taking into account that some countries, such as canada, are for all intents and purposes not testing to this very day.

i'd settle for one or more food company stocks that have around the same daily volume with exceptionally good management beloved by the investors and beyond. i'd prefer it be around the $60/share or less range so i can afford at least 1k shares of it at a time. also im realizing i should probably just stop being lazy and learn how to use the finviz stock screener lol.

basically it's just gotta have high daily volume every day, great management, very positive social sentiment (people love the company), and they make great products. to a secondary degree, a growth company that innovates would be nice too, but not necessary and probably difficult to find in the food world i'd imagine compared to technology. i'll check out the ones you listed though, feel free to list others i can just make a watchlist and start sifting through them.

food companies are so different because all the big ones have huge arrays of brands and products. The only alternative is looking at a one- or two-trick restaurant company like chipotle. (AMD's on/two trick being GPU / CPU, which they do quite well, while other semi companies have more broad product lines)
If you consider restaurants as "true" foodstocks, then chipotle probably is the analogy for AMD. but the share price is high

yeah i'll check 'em out, thanks for the info at least. just looked up chipotle and holy shit they're like the TSLA of food, that's crazy almost $700/share. but basically to day trade you need a stock that has high volume so that you can get in and out of your positions quickly at the price you want, and volume is required for a stock to trend. it's why volume-weighted indicators are important to any algo (i like the chaikinosc a lot although i use non-default settings and put an EMA of the indicator on it). the opposite are low float penny stocks which are only ever active on catalyst days, it's how you see weird price action charts and the volume is like 300 shares a minute where AMD has like 200k shares a minute traded every fucking day. it's weird, i used to do the "look for a stock with a big news catalyst every day" strategy with trading the open, but in the end i found that the /ES (a.k.a. "the market as a whole", often used as an indicator itself) futures and AMD are all i need to make a living. it's kind of boring in a way i guess, but if it ain't broke don't fix it so what i can i say.

what is his style? i love hearing about anyone's strategy, there is always more to learn. i mostly trade based on moving averages, price action, and sometimes squeezes (when the bollinger bands are trading within the keltner channel, a.k.a. a period of very low volatility) when they occur. i set my risk based on the ATR and i scale out half of my position at that amount in profit while moving the stop loss up to break even, then trail the low of the 2nd to last candle.
