So no sign of Oxy dropping to $5.5 then? Might just jump in on them now.

I've heard from friends in aircraft leasing that the first companies have been asking to defer monthly payments.

Surprisingly though, it's the bigger names - apparently their reasoning is that they want cash in the bank for buying smaller airlines that are about to go bust. Smaller companied haven't been asking for deferrals on payments, but they probably know they wouldn't get them anyway.

Off-topic I know, but interesting.

Do you have the IQ of a toddler?

This is the most important resource for all civilization, and you can literally buy it for free because of some momentary down cycle in demand due to a Bat flu...

Oil is unironically the future until nations smarten up and start building new generation nuclear reactors.

I think they might shut down production completely because the world is running out of storage. 1 month production shutdown would send oil prices to 100 maybe.

It's almost summer so I think russia might be game to shut down production to a mere trickle because of the warm weather makes it easier on the infrastructure.

Ok lads.

Get DCP
You will get .39 cents a share 4 times a year. So let’s say you have 1000 shares
$5x1000= cost $5000
1000x$390. X4. $1560. In free money per year. Hold till it’s at $30-$40 and you could sell the 1000 shares for $40,000 and you made money every 3 months holding.

>> No.18324414

Yeah, it's a slow moving disaster. Once tankers and onshore storage is at limit, there's literally no where else to put oil and the price will fall. Unless they drastically cut back pumping (for geopolitical and $$ reasons, both Saud and Russia likely wont), it's inevitable. World manufacturing will take months to come back online to the same level as Jan, not factoring in market and company financial issues.
Both Saud and Russia would also really like to kill US shale for a few years and force the US to buy oil from them again, and Shale needs to be over something like $40/bbl to be marginally profitable. Until then, everything gets furloughed.

Long term (3-5 years+) Oil is going to be fine, and will stick around until we figure out nuclear fusion, orbital microwave solar, or some other decent future power tech.

Oilanon literally said to ride the hype train on oil by holding oil stocks until the meeting on Thursday before it dumps when no agreement is made. This cycle will repeat for a while and oil will creep lower and lower until an actual deal is made. He hasn’t been wrong at all (yet), but he has been right about something small. > 5/8 $6 put on USO
If we crash to <$4 you'll have plenty of ITM profits but I'm wondering if Jerome will work his magic hands and try to crab the market. I don't see how (where are they going to store the oil?), but this market is totally irrational.

I don't, and it's really not earth shattering news anyways. I was told to buy a few companies and hold until December. The general consensus is oil will be up EOY. And the guy I know who works in the business wasn't worried about this Saudi-Russia spat at all. People who think it will bankrupt American oil companies are nuts.
You can try to play this day to day short term volatility for profit, but I don't have the mind for it.
