I would need a definition of this. Do I treat people differently based on race? No? Do I think all races are the same? No. Do I think all races can peacefully coexist in a single civilization? To an extent. Am I a fan of that idea? Not necessarily because tribalism is innate and the minority group will always feel unfairly treated by the majority group, unless your plan is to just mix all the races into one thereby effectively eliminating the problem. Am I a fan of this? No. All of my observations have lead me to he believe papa A-dawg at least had this right: Europe for the Europeans, Asia for the Asians, Africa for the Africans, etc. So... that's where I'm at personally. But I also don't make it my lifes purpose and just go about my normal life talking and interacting with whoever comes my way, no need to be an autist.

Cruises will only recover to a third or half of their old value but its from a 90% drop so yolo. I'm actually in the semiconductor industry and literally no actual production is shut down because cleanrooms--plus demand for computers/toys from a year of wfh is going to be substantial.

REITs and property are going to be weird because I bet we're going to get a lot of mortgage forgiveness or sanctioned delays.

dumbass question here

I've been adding to my tesla position the past few days and will probably sell a year or two down the road or if it moons
And i'm wondering how high it could probably go

is price basically based on marketcap / float?

Looks like the outstanding shares for Tesla is 184.39M

but that means it can get expensive pretty fast at $1k per share at 184.39B market cap

What happens in the cases where shares get too expensive for retail investors? Do companies dilute the float by creating new shares to attract more people? Do I get fucked if I hold when a share dilution happens?

This is called a stock split, and no, you get your shares split as well. Everyone does. So it will make all your shares worth less, but you will have twice the shares.
A lot of stocks that have to split stocks will keep going up anyway, so being in on a stock pre-split can be very lucrative.

I'm thinking Kohls (KSS) could be attractive, especially if they cut the dividend. The coronavirus could very well put some of these retailers out of business, which will provide the survivors with lebensraum. KSS has already been beaten down a lot. Once the coronavirus is over, if KSS is still standing, then it will come back with a vengeance. This line of thinking isn't necessarily specific to KSS though. It could apply to any retail stocks. I just have a hunch that KSS might be a good one.

Retail is going to be a great place to look for bargain stocks for a number of reasons. People aren't going to stop buying clothes. Women aren't going to stop wanting to "go shopping." We can also say that there are players in this space that have less promising futures than others, and the stronger players will fill the gaps left by the weaker players. For example, JCP is probably in a much worse position than Kohls. I haven't done enough research to say which companies have the best prospects, but I have a hunch Kohls could be one of the good plays for various of reasons, not the least of which is that my own mother remains a loyal Kohls shopper. Also, Kohls is not an excessively glamorous company that it will still demand a premium price even in the current downturn. It will slip under the radar, trading at a good discount to future earnings, and then -- BAM! -- back to $40. Easy 5x return.

What if the dollar was backed by pretty girls poop? Unless all the ass worship and smell/brap memes are just memes and satire.

If the country had a select group of attractive pretty girls to supply poop inflation would never be a issue as they could only poop so much, you could take the turds and press them into little coins an kiln fire them, the desirability would be the smell from each coin, and with each little piece broken off and enjoyed it would control inflation.

Dunno exactly which companies yet but I like United and Delta for airlines due to their trends before the crash, Marathin, RDS.B, and possibly XOM for oil, and BA and Raytheon for defense. Therr is also this Spirit aerospace company I like and also Aiebus. If I had more money I'd go long in cruiselines and hotels too, specifically Carnival and Hilton.

At QT it should cost $20 (you pay $10 to buy the stocks, and another $10 to sell), though correct me if I'm wrong.
Once the conversion is done (+ 3-4 BDs as you mention), you still get to pay the same fees as always even though you're now trading in USD, the only difference is no conversion fees
At ws this won't work because they don't support USD accounts for canadians (as far as I'm aware) and require direct fund transfers to and from a cucknadian bank, so you can't e.g. fund ws with USDs even if you did have them.

Keep in mind that guns outnumber people in the US. There are some ~400,000,000 (known and on the books lol, forget about how many illegal ones there are) guns to a population of ~330,000,000. Now also take into consideration that America has a militarized police force and well..a militarized culture. There are literally armed civilian militia groups in peacetime with military gear and training.

Except he's wrong that $10 is nothing if you're trading 10 stocks 2x a month. Reminder that fees are both ways so you really pay $20 everytime you so much as rebalance, for each stock pair to rebalance. 10 stocks 2x a month is very little, and still results in $200-$400. I don't know. I imagine if it was generally considered a likely event in the near future, then the stock would be trading at a much higher price. On the other hand, you don't get the rewards of events like that unless you put yourself in the places where they could happen. Kohls has some level of business relationship with Amazon now, due to the Amazon returns thing. If Amazon wanted a bunch of brick-and-mortar store fronts real quick, why wouldn't it make sense for them to buy out Kohls? They already have some relationship and the total enterprise value for Kohs is less than $5 billion.

My interest in Kohls doesn't depend on any Amazon buyout. My vague thinking is as follows.

1. Kohls stock is very cheap now, particularly due to the coronavirus.
2. If Kohls cuts its dividend, Kohls stock could get a lot cheaper than even now.
3. If Kohls survives the current year, it profits will return to something approaching those from before the coronavirus.
4. With everything back more or less to normal, the stock will go up by a lot!

Like I said earlier, I ought to actually do some research to substantiate the belief that Kohls won't just go out of business, but like I said, its my mom's favorite place to go clothes shopping, and that certainly counts for a lot as far as sound investment goes.
