I don’t know about you all... but because of Corona this is the first time since college that I’ve felt alive. I have lots of silver and been waiting for something like this to happen for 5 years. The point where things get so bad that 1 silver Roosevelt dime will buy me a blowjob from a formerly well to do housewife and her 18 year old daughter at the same time. I’ve been waiting in the shadows laughing at these cuck husbands who buy their wives range rovers instead of buying silver bullion... knowing that I’ll be face fucking their wives mouths for the 1.30$ it cost me to buy that silver dime.

Just yesterday at Whole Foods I seamlessly entered into conversation about Corona with a roastie milf that had a ring on her finger in the water aisle... and I said this is all a cover for trump to bring us back on a gold standard. She started looking at me in amazement like she wanted me to paint her lips in cum. At the end of the conversation I’m like take my number l have plenty of protection and freeze dried food if you ever need it and she took it from me.

silver, or "silber" as the jews call it, absolutely moggs gold in its reflective qualities. it's quite cliterally the shiniest metal of them all. you would have to be absolutely fockin insane to own less than 50 oz. of silver at these prices. the most entry-level poorfag stacklet has to have at least 25 oz.

Is that really a thing? I've heard of people collecting old Spanish silver coins mined in Peru back then, but Aztec coins?

Sounds like the markup is probably insane, but it would be cool just to have. Same with Spanish silver, I want to buy a few pieces just to put in a chest and LARP as a 17th century hoarder in the West Indies or something, even if that sounds more than a little cringe.

Keep dreaming. I'm a gold bull and I think the "best case" scenario for gold prices is maybe $20,000. More realistically, I think it's going to be $5,000 or $10,000. The higher the final price of gold, the more you'll likely wish that the price weren't so high because extremely high prices imply that the shit has truly hit the fan.

If you're expecting $300,000/oz gold, I'd strongly recommend that you buy 5 or 6 firearms and tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition.

They are easier to sell before and after a possible collapse (that may or may not happen in our life times; surely the world would end when Dick Nix closed the gold window, or because of Y2K, or 2008, or Corona-chan, or... you got the idea).
Still, they are a good inflation hedge. Go 25% government issued silver, %25 government issued gold, 50% USD or CHF notes (in dollar values; adjust getting new savings into the one that gets out of the allocation, i.e., if silver is cheap buy more; now it is actually time for cash).
With this you can ditch banks. Interested people can setup a trust to legally avoid inheritance taxes in the US. You can also have gold, silver, platinum and palladium in your IRAs. Do your research.

No. This is superstition. After selling silver, I can confidently say that this wasn't the case. Silver sells. If you're worried, call a few local coin and precious metal dealers, look at buy back prices online, call online dealers, and put out a few feelers on exchange forums. Hell, sell a few pieces yourself. You can find the buy back prices right now by just calling a few online dealers.

This is just a boomer superstition and premium cope.

Goldlet here.
Can somebody explain to me why gold is regarded as a good way to protect against hyperinflation or maintain wealth long-term when it’s value in dollars now is the same as it was 40 years ago, meaning it has in fact underperformed inflation? Not memeing, am I missing something? And I’m not talking about speculation so I don’t care that it’s done well in the last 12 years when its 40 year performance is worse than just putting money into a high interest savings account.
I distrust paper money as much as anybody but fail to see how gold maintains its value and would like to know.

yes

> or maintain wealth long-term
no

Gold is a non-productive asset, so it's going to lose long-term against any other investment that actually generates a return somehow. If you'd bought gold at the last peak in 2012 you'd have missed out on an epic bull market in stocks.

Protection against inflation comes from the fact that Gold has inelastic demand.

50% of gold production goes into jewelry, and 25% goes into purchase as an investment. Those two sources are both rather non-correlated (it doesn't matter if stocks go up or down, people still buy shiny things for others in order to get laid), or even inversely correlated (as Gold has a reputation as a financial haven).

Gold is a good hedge against the US Dollar, but for investment performance, put your money into something that generates a return instead of incurring storage costs.

sorry, was going to comment on this.

Airlines are going down because nobody is traveling. However, are they going down because their financials were shady? No... Are they going down because they have bad management? No... They're going down because of an external event causing the government to make people stay at home.

Once things blow over the gov't is going to just give tons of money to the airlines. I'm not sure I'd invest (because what if the government bails out the airlines but takes an equity share then you're diluted) but I wouldn't count on them going bust.
