Yes, the 30% drop was significant but it was based entirely on over-sensationalization from the media. The president has handled this whole debacle exceptionally well, and people are calming back down knowing that we will be back up and running by May, June at the latest. China too is already almost completely back to work. People have begun to realize that this whole thing is huge nothingburger, and that we'll be fine in the long run.

People know the future is going to be okay, (hell, the current situation is fine already...) and THAT is why the markets are going up.

History has shown that now is the time to buy. And with several very big green days on the books, we finally have some stability. Unfortunately if you're not already in you've missed the bottom, but it's not too late. If you jump in now you can still make some huge returns. I think HAL is a bigger gamble than SLB because they don't have that international business like SLB has. That being said, HAL probably has more upsides if the oil market can return to $40+ a barrel crude.
I think you would have been better off staying entirely XOM or CVX tbqh, and I'd look at CVX as the safer of the two. That being said XOM is spending money on upgrading production despite current events, again I see XOM like a bigger gamble with potentially more upside.
The only other recommendation I can make is add some other energy stocks in your basket to spread the risk around a bit, maybe a natural gas company like OKE.

I think HAL is more risky than XOM. I don't think HAL is big enough to get a bailout. HAL does have a lot of assets they could burn through before bankruptcy though.
