What's stopping me from inviting myself and running two nodes? I can do the flip test under 60 seconds no problem. Is this high iq gamer privilege? Any other anons planning on doing the same?

It might work for a few months. and then you get stinky poopoo flips and you lose your 1k stake. fee free to try it, it's all risk reward. you contribute more to the network because you can submit twice as many flips/epoch. Just make sure those flips are high quality pls

>> No.18145084

>>18143731
You have to make the validation in a certain time, its near impossible for humans to do 2

>> No.18145168

Running two identities is ez if you're not a brainlet and have a fast connection. I can still validate 3 but trying to get a +92% short session score for all of them is really difficult.

I validate only one because of shitty connection atm but I do believe 2 validations at once are entirely possible, 3 are probably just a gamble where you only skim through the flips and hope you get enough of them right. Assuming you get 6 flips on each account you have less than 6 seconds for each. Running 2 accounts and reaching Human status on one might be more profitable and safer.
In short term running 2 accounts might become even easier as devs are working on upping the flip Quality in short session but will probably get really hard at some point so take advantage while you can.

Based. Did you invite yourself? I feel like the devs could crack down on this. It wouldn't be hard to see that you're validating each account subsequently.

>> No.18145860

>>18145829
Nevermind. You could do them all the same time, solving 1 flip then switching clients.

>> No.18145882

I think going to such measures would only bring to light that the validation system is not perfect and it would do more damage than good to the project
A lot of people understand and accept that it’s possible to run more than 1 node per person but it’s against what the project is trying to achieve. We’re still in the testing phase though so they’ll prob fix that at some point

>> No.18145921

>>18145860
Also trying to crack down on multiple nodes by for example banning same IP etc would become a game of miners discovering novel ways around the system and devs spending their time fighting this instead of building new features. Waste of time. The point is to make the validation process on multiple nodes either impossible or not worth it.

>> No.18145936

>>18145882
At the end of the day you're solving a puzzle and some people are faster at solving puzzles. It will get easier to do as flips should increase in quality with more peer review. I don't know what possible consequences this has for the project

I'd rather see them fixing the invite system first. Make it so that you have no control over who you can invite, but chuck them all into a pool. Inbetween epoch validation sessions, Candidate status nodes have to make practice flips that human/verified nodes can score. You'll only be able to get invited if you can get a 3/0/0 consensus status on your practice flips. This way we can guarantee that new players on the network can submit quality flips. It also takes away the hassle of finding a suitable candidate as a verified/human node.

this incentive is already built in with the risk of losing your ability to mine the following epoch, suspending/killing your identity, and/or lose staked/locked DNA if you fuck up validation sessions. juggling multiple accounts during a 120-second validation short session increases this risk.

sounds like an easy fix to the fact you're too lazy to find a reputable human to give your invite to. which is the whole point of the invitation system. if devs implemented your shitty invite pool idea, why should you get rewards for it? the whole point is to incentivize those in the network to find reputable humans to join.

if you're an incompetent anti-social loser who doesn't have 1 single friend he can pay off to help you validate for 120-seconds of his time during an international quarantine where virtually nobody is working...you don't deserve to be rewarded for invites.

i've got 4 of my tenants helping me validate my 5 identities. one day they may catch on and run their own, but until then i'm happy with the mining rewards and they're happy with $20 kek

copy the whole idena folder, place it somewhere else, open the client so it generates a new address would be my guess

I find all my invitees here on 4chan. If you think ranjesh inviting all his village people will help building a stronger network, go ahead. I think that letting candidates prove they can make flips before they can mine should be a prerequisite. Long term, this will create a strong incensive when epoch durations will be 2 months+
>sounds like an easy fix
It doesn't matter, getting through the validation process is all what matters.

>> No.18146219

>>18146182
That would work to generate the new address. But I need to have both clients open right before and during the validation I think.

>> No.18146237

>>18146168
I'm on Ubuntu and use remote nodes. You need to compile the client from source. First comment out lines 68-81 in main/index.js. Then to change the data directory, in main/stores/setup.js add
>whichApp.setPath('userData', 'NEW/PATH/HERE')
to dbPath() before the return.

Well it’s not an incentive enough to keep me from having one main account that I’ll validate to the best of my ability and then a side acc to try my luck, if I fuck up then whatever but there’s a high chance I won’t. Getting 2 invite codes as a Human might enough to stop me from doing it though. We’ll get there with time.

I got my family to run their own accounts so they can make some side cash during lockdown and I could start inviting friends for profit now but desu it does take some time to get them going and maintain updates etc and really it seems easier to just find a random in Discord as:
1. they already show enough interest to seek out codes and
2. if anything happens like sudden price dump they won’t moan to me about it
