500 into 100k, probably bought the x15-x20 leveraged ones very, very early and day traded them. you can't hold them because several of the 10% pumps we've had would have made them worthless.
you can also snipe them if they are extremely close to knockout and becoming worthless, buy like 10000 of them for pennies, and with some luck the underlying reverses or goes up even a smidge and boom there you go 1000%+ returns
have made some insane returns myself on the DAX x15 ctfs

Are there any financial planners here who want to help me assemble my portfolio? I have a traditional IRA with a present market value of about $8,500, which I would like to fully invest. Barring any major changes to my personal circumstances, the size of this account is fixed, since I've switched over entirely to Roth contributions (I have a net-negative tax rate), and I may consider rolling this account over into my Roth IRA at some point.

So far, you can see that I have about 30% in stocks, plus 8.75% on SDOW. If I don't get creamed on Monday, or otherwise have reason to believe that things will continue to turn for the worst. I will probably purchase more shares of SDOW.

I have now about 22% still invested in the SWAGX bond mutual fund. I sold the majority of my shares after the big dump recently and plan on selling the rest soon to invest in stocks. If I do keep in bonds, I need the yield to be high enough to be worth it, which at this point would be about 5% yield or higher, so I'll need to delve into corporate bonds. I've noted that Kraft-Heinz offers bonds of suitable yield that still have investment-grade ratings, so I may consider that. When I was looking at it earlier, I believe Schwab said the minimum purchase was $4,000, which would be a large portion of this account. I suppose there are certain corporate bond ETFs that might also have a suitable yield, but I worry about their safety.

the underlying is futures of the underlying unless stated otherwise in the prospect
so for example if monday s&p opens -5%, you have missed 10% gains. and who knows if it drops further, maybe it does.
most pros try to catch the swings with these from what i've seen, and trading them very rapidly with large amounts as the x15+ ones change really quickly in price, and with some skill you can hedge both bull and bear and win by repeatedly selling and buying from the tiny price changes

Bobros, I'm getting hosed on my puts expiring next Friday. I think my losses are going to wind up $1000 on fucking SPY puts. Fuck this dead cat bounce.

However, for my oilbros, I just put another $250 each into SSL, WES, MRO, and CVE. I would have put more into PAA and I should have last week when they were super low, but I was too focused on my short game and forgot to pay attention to my long game.

Paycheck comes in on Monday so I'll have another 3k to play with then, probably going to focus mainly on DCA into more shares rather than play with puts. I think I'm done with being a "trader" and I'm going back to my Grahamian roots and just look for cigar butts lying on the trading floor. If I feel the urge to speculate again I'll just buy more BTC.

Naval Officer here, our carriers don't prevent China from "having a free hand in the region" anyway. If we decide we need to threaten navylets at any time in the next few hours to months, those ships can get underway and do their mission even if some of the sailors have minor colds. In fact, that's normal for operations. Disease spreads like fucking mad on ships anyway, and sick sailors are for the most part required to work until they start shitting themselves uncontrollably.

Basically, don't believe the media hype.

Maybe you can renegotiate your mortgage with the recent Fed rate cut your mortgage lender might be cutting their rates as well. Might be desperate for business as well lol. So you have some leverage.Shop around

I wouldnt trade stocks like you are indicating. Multiple studies have shown that the vast majority of people, including sophisticated investors, can not beat the index over the long term.

If you can maximize your contributions, then I would go 90% Low cost Total market ETF, and maybe a 10% in bonds(ETFs, or if you can buy them individually with a good yield)

If you plot volume as a vertical histogram based on price levels (instead of horizontal based on time like normal) it gives you an interesting picture of where price "wants" to be. Becomes a lot easier to see what levels are being tested/rejected than any indicator or TA method I've found. If you sort of soft-assume that volume through the day follows a roughly normal distribution and add in points certain standard deviations away from mean price action you can find areas where price will either fall/rise through easily (low aggregate volume) or seek out and test/retest (high aggregate volume)

I dont know if you know a country by the name of Greece (i know most americans dont know any place other than their state) but that debt-ridden little country made me atleast 40% profit in a couple of months.

Greece is just an example but you can find many countries that are just starting to grow economically after a big crisis. I bought stocks for lets say 1 dollar and they jumped to 4$ in a span of a few months
