Landlord here,

No, I will not kick you out for a national crisis. Rent is delayed until this we are not under a national emergency and no late fee's will occur.

When this is over, you will only be required to pay a portion of your rent, and in smaller payments depending on your income. I am not trying to make profit this year, I am trying to come as close as I can to breaking even. Your total rent cost will be reduced by approximately 25-30% and I will be quite reasonable in the time frame you can pay it back.

Some of this is due to the amenities not being open, so I am compromising. Also, I just feel a moral obligation to do this. Your livelihood is just as important as mine. Without your rent, I can no longer stay in business. And without your respect, this can't be a symbiotic relationship as it once was before the crisis.

I look forward to pulling together with you, and if there's anything you need, feel free to give me a ring and we'll see what we can do about it.

Thanks for your understanding Tom. You've always been a fair landlord who didn't increase my rent every year and always made sure to keep the property up and didn't let certain types move into the property. I'm really glad I decided to keep paying you the $545 for my studio while saving to pay cash for a house instead of taking out a mortgage on a cuckshed. Cheers, Randy.

it's pretty easy to be generous once you realize you're not going to make any money for months or perhaps years. I'll be donating inventory to those in need, but only because it's a complete loss already and I might as well use it to win some good will and free advertising.
