Fever is the body's immune response to many types of infection. It raises the internal temperature of the body to inhospitable levels. Fever reducers can lead to impaired immune function, leading the virus to take better hold in your respiratory. It can turn a mild case into a more severe case.

Look at previous crashes and zoom in to the daily chart to see what actually happened. Market is always wavy. You can't determine a trend reversal from a two days of data. Everyone here is screaming about missing "the bottom", but we are not magicians or JPow. The best we can do is look at trends, and according to them buying two days ago was just a gamble. A gamble 90% probably took the days before and lost horribly when "the bottom" bottomed further.

We should wait till we see a clear consolidation. It going up 10% on one day, 5% the next is not it.

But I expect a trend reversal soon, as long as the banks stay stable.

holding XOM RDS.B BP and CVX - mostly XOM, by far actually. reduced my position in MRO today, by 2/3, made maybe 8% on it. Still long oil but I think the market has another leg down and MRO's financial situation worries me a bit. Going to reposition into PSX or go even harder into XOM for that fat divvie on the next leg down. I believe there will be a substantial leg down soon in oil stocks; not enough rise in oil prices to justify the recent gains. When that happens I will double my position in oil stocks and go long. I am not buying any more oil until I see a leg down. It's a good long but I want to maximize my gain.

The most likely reason given will be "hope of a buyout by a competitor". Cinemas are big spaces and its costly to build one, so its much cheaper to buy them from a competitor that went out of business.
The problem is that all of the cinemas are bleeding cash and don't have money for such a purchase. That thinking is only "obvious" when you've been in a bull market for 10 years.

The jobs report will have an impact. Because it would anyway. But the relief bill being delayed will have a bigger impact. Both sides are dragging their feet now arguing over who gets more gibs. I've seen rants against Pelosi playing politics, and liberals cursing at McConnell for being against the $600 a week extra for unemployment. Neither side is helping any.
But i don't expect the stock market to settle down for a while - and not before the national emergency is halted, minimum. And, when the governors of NY and CA stop burning their economies to the ground talking about months more of quarantine, because ORANGE MAN BAD said he wants to end it soon.

This is how our system works now. Emergency, short period of "get it done", then it falls apart with bickering and cash grabs and bullshit politics for the sake of politics.

And, expecting the NEETS and blubberheads on /biz to react any other way than they are is naive and foolish, lol. They're a couple sandwiches short of a picnic on good days.

honestly think dems were grandstanding only.
95% of the time they vote with party talking points, but i do think they'll be ok with the VERY easy compromise of saying "try not to hand out more in government benefits than what employers were providing for honest work.

I don't know man I had the notion that getting a masters was going to be worth it but when I look at the places were I would want to work I don't really feel inclined to go their NY, DC, etc.

For the masters I think it depends on what you want to do, like the RAND Corporation, wants you to have a masters at a minimum for a junior researcher, while other positions I've seen usually bachelors.

If you get a masters that opens you up for more advanced programs but given the fact that we are going to get a recession and god forbid a depression it might not be worth it.

Former military nice.

I was thinking about joining the military but was forced down the college path by my parents who viewed college as the only option for me.

Ironically, I think I have more of a desire to join the military now due to job stability, the fact that I am single, I don't want to go back to be with my family in my cramped apartment, and the fact that none of the careers seem to interest me (I realized I hate office and research settings).

Any advice on the service? I also got some federal loans that I wanted to help my parents payoff and if I remember correctly the military has a federal loan forgiveness program in exchange for service. Plus since I have a masters that qualifies for officer candidacy programs last time I checked.
