3D xpoint and their deal with micron just got pushed, and while they're lagging currently they still hold the majority share in commercial applications and despite losing some of their lead in the consumer domain they're still ahead in certain popular domains such as: gayming. Their entry into the discrete GPU market, assuming it's even marginally acceptable middling hardware will be a huge boon. Finally their assets are huge, x86 IP, the most popular compiler, their own foundries, bought out industry bias (they got dickslapped for that)

I think it's a good looong. Maybe even a good short hold, they're supposedly making 90% of their time sensitive obligations right now, I wonder if the same can be said for AMD.

Well, not an individual saving account, but a "slush fund" of sorts for certain offices for when things get tough.
As well as assisting sums to "job creators" so they won't have to risk their own wealth to keep their job giving businesses afloat, but only for high tier company folks.
Though keep in mind, that's how I'VE understood it so far by reading the proposals

I'm thinking long term for them
They fell way behind the pack on their process node, and major manufacturers are starting to look elsewhere.
Both microsoft and apple have expressed their intentions to invest in ARM solutions, with versions of Windows for ARM and supposedly MacOS for arm.
Large webserver companies have also started deploying RISC based server infrastructure, such as Amazon and Google.
Intel really needs to step up their game, they aren't adapting at all and are falling behind in the one thing they're actually good at (x86 server/desktop parts).
Those large assets can start crippling them quicker if demand shrinks up at a rate they're not prepared for, and would topple out of control much like what happened with AMD spinning off their fabs. They have to turn it around and get back on top to keep the ball rolling, maybe their new GPU division could make that happen. I personally think they should be focusing on expanding their output of things other than x86 chips.
They still have the laptop market and a lot of the server market though, which is think is their saving grace.

Pretty much that the current "treatment" for the economy is debt, and people will be taking on debt as the recovery starts, and then rates will start rising, which will slow down growth in some sectors. It's nothing complex, just a nice simple overall view of things.

I've traded AAL, DAL, and LUV in the past, but I wouldn't say I have any specialty in trading them. I'm mostly a price action/order flow trader and was doing really damn well up until recently when everything started getting short sale restrictions, volatility halts, etc. All the spreads have been slippery as fuck lately and levels are getting touched like nothing I've ever seen. It's to the point where if a trade goes offsides by even a couple cents I'm better off just exiting and looking to re-enter rather than waiting for it possibly go back to breakeven and turn profitable.

I think this is a big part of it and psychologically I have a lot of difficulty not trading. I have this weird hang up about looking lazy. It's like an insecurity about trading for a living. Almost like I feel guilty if I sit here and do nothing. I also feel like I should be skilled enough to trade in any conditions so rather than just get up, walk away, and do something else I stick around reading the inside market, the time & sales, and the charts and inevitably start to see setups that would be worth trying, but in this market you have price slipping through stops really badly, weird little "micro-momentum" bursts are happening, thousands of share orders are appearing and vanishing in split seconds, and so on. These things happen all the time, but I'm seeing them a ton today and I remember them happening a bit last week in particular. Usually I can hold a position offsides a little bit and have a good idea when the trade isn't worth holding anymore. Today though it was like "that's a pretty solid level up to this point, nice, bids are getting chopped up, I'll short around there, what the fuck where did those bids come from...? oh it moved against me by a few cents, that's okay, should be good to hold it unless the sellers drop out...oh the sellers REALLY dropped the fuck out and I got trapped...oh I'm out now and price is now tanking. Cool." It's the sort of shit you see when a stock has a short sale restriction only I was avoiding those stocks today. Pretty damn frustrating.

It could be because of less liquidity than usual. Normally algorithms would be balanced by others with plenty of liquidity on both sides to produce somewhat regular market movement, but if you get a few bigger players pulling back because of volatility then the ones left start to look a little erratic. Not that this helps a lot in making trades, just some thoughts.
