Honestly the fact that he keeps the trade wars with China and Russia going is most retarded part of this. Literally what is even to be gained from this. Cancel trade war with Russia and use that as leverage to raise oil prices, cancel trade war with China and receive direct profits right away. Only thing stopping him from doing it is pride.

I'm starting to think the medicine is worse than the disease. Yeah, millions of old and infirm people dying if we left everything open is bad. But the economy and society as we know it collapsing would kill a lot more people than a coof.

The point of the trade war was to strengthen local industry and be less reliant on foreign economies. Even after all this you honestly don't see the value in that?

That's not isolationism, it's called not being a braindead retard. Similar to how acknowledging the existence of races isn't "racism or race realism" it's called not being a braindead retard.

Fact? I don't think fact exists in finance. If it existed then anyone could make money. But you can pretend homo economicus exists.

They vote for policies that are more economically helpful in the short term than zoomers, but are mostly retired and sucking the rest of society dry via pensions, medical care, and rent seeking.

Thing is, they broke the fundamental processes of family formation, which is killing off conservatism and social stability long term. That takes them from a net negative to a massive net negative.

want a happening?
my brother is an attorney. we talked tonight and he said his office is currently overflowing with business clients asking about bankruptcy options.
it seems congress in their infinite wisdom passed the "Families First Coronavirus Response Act" which promises workers 12 weeks of salary if their job is affected by coronavirus.
well all the companies in questions current doubts are:
(a) how do we know bizness will ever return
(b) what if the 'relief' that congress passes is actually a loan we are forced to take
(c) wouldn't it be wiser to declare bankruptcy NOW to get ahead of this to give us maximum flexibility
