Buy Bitcoin, they said. You will survive the next recession, they said.

People need to eat, pay mortgages or rent.
Bare in mind it will get worse because in the coming months people are going to lose their jobs and they will sell their BTC to cover their bills.
Research shows BTC is going sub $1k

most people that buy BTC are not poor people, or middle class. They are middle-upper class, upper class or straight millionaires/billionaires. They are not retarded and have enough for a recession. No one is going to sell.

Here’s the thing: the sell off was mostly hedge funds and normies who in these events sell everything. The fact that the market has continued to drop with no survivors but bitcoin and crypto have actually bounced back is evidence in a true crisis it will maintain value. If this continues, and everyone flees the stock market, they will now see crypto markets and say “shit, we shouldn’t have pulled out then”, and flood back in. Coronavirus will unironically lead to the largest crypto run of all time. 1-2 months tops.

Recession has not started yet. Governments all over the world are printing money to delay the inevitable. They are doing this because an economic crash during a health crisis will be a disaster. Wait for the corona crisis to pass away, Bitcoin is set to win. Chanchellor won't be bailed out again.

There could be a big sell-off
Or in response to the falling prices of other assets, one with liquidity, pseudoanonymous ownership, and ease of transfer, might just be a good shelter from falling value of fiat.

depends on when you need the money. You can buy now and sell them in 1-3 years and I'm pretty sure you'll have made a decent profit. Don't expect to become a millionaire through some coin luck. Educate yourself about saving and investing and you'll be set for the future.
