It was a one off thing they managed to pull off with massive marketing, paying ben bernanke + bill clinton to appear at their events. They had media outlets, masses of twitter bots all shilling for them. The ripple execs all likely dumped on retail investors making hundreds of millions. They probably can't do it again out of fear of being arrested. They're already on thin ice with legal issues, they have to keep pretending XRP is still a thing because abandoning it and saying "it's just a scam we're all rich now, bye" would land them in jail.

1) its clear they push more for Ripple tech more than XRP. They probably put no pressure on any of these partnerships to use XRP at all. Even on the white paper, it said their tech cuts costs already and adding XRP just adds 30% reduction to costs. I will fault them on their laziness of pushing XRP

2) theres just so much fucking XRP in circulation. I think fudders overblown how much XRP gets dumped by Jed and derisk, but at the same time, theres probably 20 billion XRP that get circulated constantly and never held in storage. Its much different from 2017. I wouldnt be surprised if theres 10x more XRP circulating now compared to 2017.

the plus side of this, is that it makes it harder to completely dump XRP, hence why it held the best during the march crash. but the down side is, it just cant moon at all

Ripple the company is based in silicon valley and has offices in over 50 countries and one based in washington DC, Chainlink is based on the cayman islands in a building rented out by thousands of other "companies"
