Bailing out the banks is nu-Keynesian, an ideology which is a more modern form of socialism, diametrically opposed to capitalism.

In a capitalist system, the banks would simply fail due to their misbehaviour and, many in the banking tribe would go to jail for their crimes. There would be multiple market solutions providing insurance against banking collapse for the people.

Even in a monetarist (another Keynesian derivative) system uncucked by the banking tribe, the government might be expected to hold a tax reserve to insure the people against banking collapse.

The issue is corporate socialism. Essentially the same issue that the communists ultimately faced, despite all their bullshit about being for the people.
