Thoughts on dudeweed stocks?, I was looking at some companies who have diversified investments in various smaller operations handling distribution and cultivation. Seems like the current lockdown will kill traffic into stores but in august when things quieten down a bit and suddenly tax revenue from legal weed become alot more enticing to governments I'd tip to see a boom in value.

You're going to be slaughtered if you're buying anything. No matter how tempting, no matter the industry, do not do it. Do not, do not, do not.

We may be heading to race war and martial law in this country when we reach peak crisis levels. I've been telling everyone to study what happened in Baltimore, Los Angeles, and New Orleans when natural disaster or allegations of racial discrimination struck. When we do not have enough hospital beds for everyone and a single white person gets picked over a single black person, that's when the real drop begins.

I got into the market just a few months ago, with my luck right before this shit all started to go down.

I'm aware things are fucked, but I don't know enough to accurately predict if my ~20k loss from selling will be reimbursed as I invest on the way down. Or I can just ride this shit out. It depends on just how far down this is going. If I can get out now near the top, and i don't know shit about numbers, I feel like it might be worth it

i'm here on this taiwanese fishing charter forum for insight that I don't have, that is hard to find at 2am, when my only other sources are boomer-based

that's imaginary. they have a value right now and you can exchange it for cash. whether or not you do it, they still have that value.

Set aside 5 to gamble on options now that volatility is hot and keep the other 65k in your pocket for cleaning day on wall street in April. The list of full crisis mode is much longer than that. The fact we are dropping so fast isn't the scariest thing. It's that even with every central bank pulling out all of their jewish instruments we are still freefalling. \Even with reserve requirements at zero and zero interest rates (literally free infinite money) we are still dropping. Even with 700 bln in QE and trillions in overnight repo to add liquidity we are still dropping. Even with dumb bailouts left and right and a trillion dollar stimulus YangGang 2020 package we are still dropping.

When people say crash I always thought of the sound when you hit the bottom, but where the hell is the bottom??

It's your personal judgement. We don't know if the banks will fail or not. Investor sentiment and the institutions don't seem to think that they'll fail at this point.

You have the option to withdraw cash and store it in a safety deposit box, either in raw cash form or after conversion to precious metals, which depending on your bank's policies, may be safe in the event of a bank failure, and which you can also insure through private insurance.

I have all my money in my brokerage account right now, so I'm not thinking about it too much. But if I was heavy in my checking account, I'd go the safety deposit box route. Just remember to read up on whether or not your bank treats these boxes as belonging to itself in the event of failure.

safety on it is weird, it's much safer to carry it with one in the chamber and hammer down, necessitating a long trigger pull of the double action for it to fire, rather than putting one in the chamber, having the hammer cocked back, and having the lever thumb safety preventing the cocked hammer from striking, as those safeties are often disengaged just from moving around while it is in it's holster.

so there are many drawbacks to it in the holster, and but out of the holster, it is a very nice pistol.

Third, *plenty* of people finish medical school only to find out humans are gross, medicine is a often a repetitive chore, and those people either burn out or end up in research

As for the original guy's point that some medical professionals (which is everyone from doctors to scrubs wearing lay staff that empty the garbage) might not be showing up to work because they fear for their lives, nobody really knows if they're a coward or not until you're in a life or death situation.

Nobody knows, lately that whole notion has been getting tested.
My boomer mother has a bunch of physical gold (in a safe deposit box) and I kind of want her to liquidate it because it doesn't really seem like "gold is a safe haven" is true anymore

Some people are saying it's because of the paper gold trade (there's more IOUs for gold being pushed around than actual gold to back up those IOUs) and other people are saying zoomzooms just don't value or understand gold so they don't flock to it.
Another theory I've heard is that banks / firms / etc are liquidating gold to cover shorts or margin calls (that seems like something that could be affirmed or refuted based on volume but I'm not even sure if you can really see volume of gold selling)

Once cases increase sufficiently and all the makeshift ICU beds that can be improvised are used a lot of health care personnel will get infected. You can protect yourself all you want, some risk remains, and from there it's just statistics. Some have already gotten infected now, while we still have sufficient regular capacities. Are you accusing me of not know or the other guy?

I'm saying I think borrowing stock you don't have from your stock loaner with the hope it goes down at a future date so you can buy it back at a profit s purely speculative (as opposed to the original intent of stock being a kind of mini-stake in a company).
Selling stock you own is signaling you think the firm is less valuable than some alternative (whether that alternative is a better investment or cash), shorting is you gambling that everyone else is going to sell.

You might be fundamentally right to short a stock that's a piece of shit but if the rest of the market doesn't feel that way, you were "wrong".

HOWEVER, I think making shorting illegal across the board everywhere would be useless since some enterprising person would find some way to create the next best thing because there's a demand for it.

>We ain't getting out of this shit for another month at least
It'd be several months and that's the quick route where we just let the boomers die.

The three options
>let it burn
Everyone gets it instantly, we bury the dad in mass graves and move on
>let it smoulder
Let a bunch of people get it and then shut everything down for a few months, rinse, repeat until everyone has had it. Bunch of people still die, but it's half as much as let it burn
>deny it oxygen
Shut everything down for like 5 months, then open and close every other month while trying to purge it with tracing. If you never purge it this keeps up until the vaccine drops. Way less deaths, but complete economic collapse.

Borders remain closed in all circumstances.
