The federal government is going to buy the IOUs that the companies are giving the banks, so that the banks can then take on more IOUs to float the companies for a few more months.

AKA The government is going to use your tax dollars to keep shit companies from failing. A good portion of this is inevitably going to go to executive severance packages.
