>It doesn't matter what you think about wether "panic induced selling" is the cause of this or not. The fact of the mater is, our economy is not moving right now and as long as that is the case we are only gonna go down. My company is down almost 40% right now. If they close up shop and lay people off that is going to have drastic effects for our local economy. One thing leads to another, if people aren't working then there is no money circulating in the economy and therefore there is no reason to invest in anything because no one is making money right now.

Markets are reflecting uncertainty more than worried about an economic slowdown for two weeks.

Analyst here. I don't see this as the bottom. We have much more space available between us and the floor and realistically I think Q2 and Q3 earnings should be telling of that. The market has and is continuing to act highly irrational, and reports can send some overleveraged companies flying off a valuation cliff.

I've got long calls on VZ, May and Jan puts on AAL, and post earnings puts on USB (high consumer credit exposure). USB and AAL are a bit of a concern but realistically AAL should tank as long as the Fed doesn't bail them out.

The optimism is misplaced and bulls over the last few days have shown increasing signs of cognitive dissonance and collective cluelessness to their claims. Will we end up green this week? Maybe. But over the next few months once the real news about job losses, etc being flowed out, I think then will be the time to see who is bullish right now and cut them out of your realm of advice. They should have no more say in your financial life anymore.

They're pretty exposed to the consumer credit markets as well. I'd be careful considered their earnings can keep them below 20-25 if the losses are too much. You're likely better off on January or longer calls, but I'd still be careful. Measure your risk in and don't over expose, also consider the profit margins you'd be looking at. Some banks may get hit hard this year but we'll see with the Fed doing what it does. I do expect income losses to be a bit of a concern though (causing increased delinquincies).

When, long ago, the gods created Earth
In Jove's fair image Man was shaped at birth.
The beasts for lesser parts were next designed;
Yet were they too remote from humankind.
To fill the gap, and join the rest to Man,
Th'Olympian host conceiv'd a clever plan.
A beast they wrought, in semi-human figure,
Filled it with vice, and called the thing a Nigger.

A slow declining bear market until we hit under 10k or lower. Then, the revolutions start....riots, crime rates sky rocket, etc etc etc....

If the government manages to keep a lock on things then we can slowly get the economy back on track through investment. Businesses can come back, slowly, over time,

If they can't keep the population under control, well, who knows really, Maybe communism, maybe barbarism.

I envision a world of technologically advanced nomads in the next 30 years, personally.

Yeah, kinda like that. I think humans have an inherent better nature, regardless of what this society tries to tell us. It would be barbarism at first, but, over time I think the remaining humans after all of this will return back to a nomadic existence. I mean, we have basically produced everything on the earth for them right now.

If this ship comes crashing down the people who are left; while there will be less, they will have a cornucopia to take from of past productive forces.

Forgive me for my ignorance, of the history of the Reichsmark as weimar entered it's period of hyperinflation, but were the majority of the world's contracts at the time written in Reichsmark? Was Reichsmark the dominant currency in the world? Had it been around for ~50 years like the fiat dollar?

Basically, did anyone outside of "germany" have any need of, use for, or desire to hold the Reichsmark?

I think if that's the case, than maybe your natsoc fantasies have some bearing on reality.
