Government programs like the FDIC prevent bank runs from happening anymore. What previously would have resulted in bank runs will now result in hyperinflation. Instead of some people losing all their money, everybody will lose money. I would not be so sure anons , yes the bank run meme may not happen again instantly in one day due to people using cards.

But the system has so many limits that are never updated that all you need is 1 year to lose the entire confidence in this digital system.

For example here in my meme country Argentina the banking system is no longer working and is seriously dangerous to let your money in it.

So people are using cash but cash atm limits are not updated so the extraction limit that was 300 usd per extraction , is now reduced to 54 usd per extraction with a 15 usd fee + fucked up exchange rate.

I've been withdrawing the daily limit from ATMs near me just in case. I don't want to get stuck with no money, but I'm not at the point yet where I need to go take out the daily withdrawal limit at the counter. I also have bitcoin which I'm sure people will start accepting if there's an actual bank closure. It's better than nothing.
