ah, that sucks. you might still consider trading say, a 15m or 30m chart instead though, sorta intraday swinging, or scalping where you have a very fast MA (like a EMA(5)) that you go long/short at depending on what the trend is, and then you take profit as soon as you get a candle that closes in your favor, and then get back in again at the average price. i trade 1m candles mostly because i like having as much granularity as possible and i like to buy red candles near the average in an uptrend and short green candles near the average in a downtrend and 1m candles have a lot more of those fluctuations i can profit from.

the main reason why $0 fees was a game changer imho was because it made scalping actually reasonable. i use AMTD and they used to charge $6.95 per trade, so a simple buy and then sell would costs about $14 and if you wanted to scale out half of your position and then the other half, that'd be about $20 basically. So if you made a trade that was $10 in profit, you actually would be down -$10 on that trade. Now you could make literally $1 in profit on a trade, and you get to keep that. Also made a huge difference to small accounts (or at least to people who wanted to trade only a few shares at a time) so that you can make small amounts of money on multiple trades and not get turbofucked by commissions.

It means less buying power to those that do not exceed the inflation rate.
, more hours needing to be worked, and more economic stresses that aren't above the baseline of actual poverty (see gainful income). My guess is above 85-115k is that baseline. Realistically I'm considering another country as on top of the 1.5 trillion, they already exceeded 1.2 trillion in bailouts, giving an assumed monetary supply growth of 17.66%. Granted there are other factors, but even at 5% actualized inflation, it's bad news for the future. Before the Corona panic hit I had already run theories and rough mathematical models pointing to the next 3-5 years to be where we see a likely permeation of economic hardship. Or as one might say, the scale is tipping and the government printing money etc is only making things worse.

I'm concerned as to why so many CEOs quit, though some may have quit due to not wanting bad things on their resumes, but others I'm guessing they may or may not know the truth of their wickedness is coming to the knowledge of the average person. Regardless of all of this, even without inflation, it was, and still is assumed that the next 3-5 years may be some of the most important for US citizens with regards to making the decision of whether it is a good or practical idea to even be in America anymore. God willing I may leave myself but we shall see.

Economies are organic. Fluid sort of. Certain events have different timelines and so on. For example, if we look at VZ's stock, we will see that although it did dip considerably over the past 30 days or so, it started to spike a lot as well, more so than other companies. Looking at it's financials, comparing it with competitors, seeing it's dividend, and so on, it would appear that there is desperation to make some money back in the stock. Enough money could be a boomer retirement income just off of dividends alone. It's probably a top pick for many firms, and like I stated, a big indicator of it's future outlook is that people are panicking and want to get back in as soon as they see a bottom. So for example I bought long dated calls, and am waiting to buy more as long as the market is red (discounted calls) and this should bring my investment to fruition before the calls expire. Thing is though this was also all formulated into the current events, and how long I think it will take for that stock to bounce back.

I guess you could say it's a bit of an orchestra in some sense. Some instruments are executed within x timeframe, they are likely to bring y profits, and the risk of the instrument failing is z. Obviously it's a bit more complex but I hope you get the idea.

Long-Covered Call strategies are the house.
Picking the best sectors for 2025+ is key
Make sure what you invest into has an open pathway ahead.

Some examples:
Investing into big box retail with the advent of online shopping
Investing into Oil companies with the advent of electric vehicles and renewable competitiveness

Get into futurology. Look at big long-term trends in various industries. Play those. Avoid the ones doomed.
Try to invest in the most intelligent CEOs and companies with the highest cognitive capacity of employees.

Look up No Nonsense Forex (indicators) and LiveTraders (price action/volume on more or less naked charts) on youtube. Watch literally all of their stuff. Set FinViz as one of your homepage tabs and check it out on a regular basis, that gives you more or less the majority of the FA you'll ever need on a stock you want to trade. StockTwits is good for general sentiment and reactions to what's happening in real time, but you have to learn how to filter out scammers.

There, I just saved you all the money you might have spent on college. All it costs you is your time watching and taking notes. Investopedia is also a great resource, but what I gave you will give you literally months of material to get through. After that it's mostly a matter of looking at lots of charts and experimenting with backtesting ideas out. Can't replace good old experience. Most people aren't willing to look at charts for hours upon hours every day though, especially when starting out, so whether or not you have the temperament for it is up to you.

At the end of the day all you're trying to do is find High Probability Setups, which have been tested extensively using historical data, and then paper traded (forward testing). Once you find something that fits your personality and works ("is profitable"), all you do is repeat it over and over again with proper risk management. The up-front work is hard but once you figure it out it's actually insanely easy and simple.

it's honestly not hard to make money trading in the market if you actually use correct position sizing and risk management. the reason why more than 9 out of 10 traders lose money is because 9 out of 10 traders don't fucking do this and/or are gamblers looking to get rich quick.

you're supposed to cut your losers short and let your winners run, but most people do the exact opposite. they hold on to losers for waaay too long and they cut their winners short, getting out too early when they could have made more. it's funny and sad at the same time: it's such a simple concept yet so many people still can't handle the psychology of trading. they don't realize if you win $100 and then lose $50 you're still up $50. You do that 10 times you're up $500. You don't have to be right all the time to be profitable.
