It's at least an order of magnitude more lethal than the flu, not the sniffles.

Moreover, the global markets were already set to collapse, the virus was just a Sparta kick off the precipice.

All of the shit that caused the last GFC is still happening. Governments are in more debt and central banks have no room to lower interest rates. Repo markets are being bailed out to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars as we speak.

All of this shit show is "justified" on the basis of a nu-Keynesian philosophy called "Modern Monetary Theory" or MMT for short, which argues that government can print money indefinitely with no consequences.

This is retarded for many reasons, here are two:

- If there is an infinite supply of fiat, what is fiat worth?

- If all this is true, why are we expected to pay taxes?

Notice this, and you've figured out how insanely corrupt the system has become. This is the reason bitcoin was first developed, sound money (a truly scarce resource) outside the control of governments and central banking cartels.

Let me explain this to you so you'll understand. A healthy economy can easily deal with 1-2 months of disruption without issue. The fact that this one can't indicates that the economy isn't healthy and carries too much bad debt. How does this happen?

>US banks are required to transfer fractional reserves between each other when lending to each otehr, equal to a % of the loaned capital

>No such restriction applies to lending between US and euro banks; thus US banks and Euro banks routinely "loan" dollar denominated Euros and euro denomiated dollars to each other without exchanging any assets, essentially prining this money into existence.

>Euro banks then lend to Chinese primary lends for higher yielding foreign assets

>chinese primary lender goes to Jian Yang, who want to open a toy factory in china, and hands him the capital well above the benchmark lending rate.

>year goes by and Yiang needs to pay his interest - but he can't. Chinese primary lendere now needs to either let the debt go bad and dump US treasuries to cover (bad), or keep tehir bad debtors on life support by lending them MORE capital and hope they can pay next time around.

>as the cost of this life support increases banks have less and less capital on hand and more capital lent out. Since they have capital reserve controls in place they must go to the REPO market to secure short term liquidity.

>Now this is the big misconception. People assume banks need liquidity injections because they are broke, but it is their debtors who are broke. Everyone pushes on the REPO market at once, and keep lending bad debts. Quickly the $50 bn in repo operations required to keep life support interest payments going requires $100 bn, then 150... then ...

>Eventually you need to either print yourself to zero purchasing power or let bad debts crash your balance sheet to zero... But either way this is how a reset starts.

hope that makes sense

Pandemic bonds are backed with actual cash. Not margin. Not IOUs. Not crypto created because someone says so. Actual fucking, measurable dollars. Think about it for a few seconds and what covering those is going to entail.

With stop losses melting + margin calls throughout the correction, this shit is amplified even more. To say nothing of the actual cash lost to logistical shutdowns in the supply chain and what that means for businesses liquidating leveraged investments to cover those.

interestingly enough much of wallstreets banker jews are white supremacist who admitted they played favorites a couple years ago when put on the spot about similarities in economic conditions and difference in how they were being reported. so the banker jew believed the redneck neocons lies and now the sins of the father are weighed

I was running these calculations and getting similar results back in January. It's just not representative with how lengthy the time the infection lingers around before you're totally recovered, in the early weeks of spread in a country. The real answer during that period actually does seem to be lying closer to deaths / infected. Obviously that's not the value, but the death to recovered ratio just doesn't hold in early stages. Later in the spread, death to recovery stabilizes down at a lower ratio.
