The official hidden /biz/discord is discord gg 6C3nECp
It has to stay hidden or (((discord))) will shut it down.
As far as Discord knows it's a Cuckold Server dedicated to polygamous followers of Qanon who trust the plan and let black men "share" their wives.

The best way to start is to "house hack" basically buy a place to live and rent the rest out. Don't believe the stories. Half of the people that get into this do a terrible job and complain at the slightest inconvenience. Treat it like a business, and run your numbers. If the deals you buy are profitable enough it should justify any headaches and then some.

>>17707329

Saved up downpayment by being frugal, and working as much overtime as possible. By the time I bought my 4th property the snowball started to pick up steam. Look into the BRRRR method for how to scale up quickly when funds are limited. Took me about 5 years to get to where I am, however, I could have acquired more if I refinanced more frequently.

hey, i am interviewing for a professional 9-5 field engineering technician job tomorrow. how do i ask them to allow me lots of vacation time? i dont need paid vacation, but i would like to take time of between jobs whether it be for a 2week event, or a 2month tour across a few states.

i would be willing to work around company schedules and stuff and go during the luls between projects (economy is booming, there are currently no luls?) . how do i proposition this without sounding like a jackass?

this is also a travelling job and i was told i would be at most sites for a week at a time.
two weeks vacation is not enough for me

I live pretty cheap, my hobbies include going to the gym in the apt complex i live in & spending time on the computer... i really dont spend much so saving kinda comes naturally.
some of that 70k liquid was from cashing out at the top of this past 10 year bullrun, so i probably put in only half of that.

Computer science. I dont live near FAANG jobs so i could probably be earning more but also would be paying more as cost of living.

I don't know much about your field or job prospects, but whats your available career pathway? pays to look at your long term earning potential as well as short term.
Also, look at when you are making that 50k, how much free time do you have? could you set up a second income stream in the weekend to supplement that income?

>>17722623

>Also gonna inherit like 8 million dollars from my parents when they die
... how soon are we talking? could keep your half mili in stocks & just wait, 8 million will get you some solid properties. Diversify your location too - Dont just look in NY, do some research into different areas around the country. Treat it like a job and put the effort in, most think its gonna be a set & forget and dont do enough research.

>> No.17724131

>your income:
110k is a good start, spend less than you make and speedrun your promotions - work harder than average, learn as much as you can and most importantly buddy up with an older more experienced dude.

after a year or so experience, you probably know enough to do small time contracting on the side as a second income stream. Your ultimate goal is to own your own business, but you dont need to rush into this.

>investments
DCA into stocks & maybe 10% crypto if thats your thing.
Diversify into property when you can afford to do that and still have money left over, and also have the time to do your due diligence. you dont really want 100% of your net worth in any single investment.
Compound interest is your friend. saving 30k for a couple years, getting some promotions, keeping cost of living comparable, then saving 60k per year, etc for 10 years with diligent investing can get you above 1m net worth in 10 years

Just say 35 000 $ in future. Because that IS what you have.

You dont "have" any assets. Do you have them in your room or a building you own ? Do you ever use them yourself ? Do you even know what they are ? Some company "has" those assets, while you just clicked a button over the internet to "convert" your money on your bank account into an "asset."

didn't do internships in uni, but did spend my time on small personal projects to fill out my github & have things to talk about in interviews. In hindsight i would have been better off if i did do internships haha.
>taking this job vs that job
took a job in a medium-large company working on big enterprise systems. no particular strategic reasoning at the time, just it sounded the best to me & the team sounded chill.
>languages to focus on
currently working in c#, 80% of what i build is using that as a backend/ api
the rest is python for a.i. rapid prototyping.

honestly the choosing what job & language wasnt strategic, but once in the company i made a point to network as much as possible, always go out with the team to drinks if anyone more senior than me was going. always say yes when asked if i wanted to do smth, often was doing a main project 40 hours a week then going home and working on something small i said i'd help with for another 10 hours a week. Every performance review i would get praised
for my attitude. programming for 50 hours a week also happens to build your skills up so i'm ahead of others who have been working as long as i have.
