They want people to believe it's the new link but the threads are nothing like Link's threads were.

Link's threads were full of actual discussion of specifically why it would moon plus breadcrumbs.

Current pnk threads remind me more of jnt: lots of excitement, lots of people pointing out one or two surface-level facts about the project that they think will make it moon but nothing that goes deeper into how it really is a fundamentally amazing solution for a serious problem, nothing that suggests it would be something that gets adopted. Just "if it gets adopted then it will be huge", like jnt being used to back stablecoins except it turns out they had customers who wanted that.

I cashed out my 401k and spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on crypto. Went something like 90% jnt and 10% link. Fucking lost almost all of it on jnt. Can't believe jnt was double the price of link once.

Anyway, the people in this thread sound super optimistic and confident but unable to go into the details and provide a clear logical argument for 1. Why kleros will gain users and 2. Why pnk will appreciate if kleros gains users.

If you ask these questions they just tell you to read the docs, like the fucking jnt threads.

The fundamental issue is there is a value cap built into the coin. If it is used for bidding for casual arbitration work as the whitepaper suggests then it’s value will always have to be a small percentage of what is essentially internet small claims court. If this does not receive enterprise adoption or use by large legal firms the coin will never, ever touch $1. I genuinely cannot see it doing any better than 10-25c even in the most bullish of bull runs

The more cases come to court, the more ETH will be going to jurors and the more people will want to buy a competitive stack. At the same time, whales will be less willing to sell and reduce their ETH income. In other words, supply will decrease while demand will increase, and you won't have to sell PNK to take profits.
Of course that all depends on actual adoption, but it's a dynamic leads me to think most /biz/inessmen are still underestimating this. When the price gets to $1, you won't want to sell.

Can you think of ONE legit project with any real volume since Link that has been discussed on this board? No, because the 2017 bullrun ruined it and here we are, desperate bagholders trying to find that one 100x. I got into a spat with some anons recently but nobody can really find any projects that were obvious moonshots that 100x. My argument being this -- alt season is dead and not coming back for a while, except in the form of defi. PNK is the best bet we got. Anyways, 1 and 2 are answered by the same points as LINK, so if you were here during LINK threads, you should be able to answer those yourself. It's not that hard, basic supply and demand.
