That's because corona chan was designed that way. The viral strain is supposed to remain dormant in your body until some other component trigger it. It's the ultimate control tool. If you become a problem/(((they))) want to get rid of us, they simply have to release the second part of the virus to get us all dead. The second part of the virus will also be harmless alone, only if you have been infected with the first one you'll die.

people didn’t lose their bank accounts in 2008, those are insured up to the hundreds of thousands. But people did lose their investment accounts with Lehman when that went bust. This is in regards to the US, don’t know about other countries.

I’m not terribly worried about keeping my money with Wells and Schwab. Even though those stocks are tanking, I don’t think it’s because my money isn’t safe.

However, robinhood... I have more and more reasons to pull out all the time. I might just sell my shit when I wake up and plow it right back into wells until I open up a TDA or Fidelity or Etrade account. I’ve just been too lazy to do it.

If you think what has happened so far is a crash, you'll absolutely panic if a real crash occurs. In previous decades, if we exclude the genuine crashes of 1999 and 2008, markets typically fell at least 25%.

As for low yields being good for stocks, it hasn't helped the Nikkei, which is still down about 50% from its all time high in 1990. Japan's interest rates have hovered near zero since 2000. The reason stocks went up in the U.S. are many-fold: firstly, the Fed immediately took action to reflate in the 2008 crash to prevent a self-reinforcing, deflationary spiral to set in; secondly, the Fed purchased USTs, mortgages, and junk to inject money into the economy. That money went through the banks which gave hedge funds and other speculators first crack at the money, which entered the stock market. Also, with record low interest rates, many corporations took to issuing bonds and using the proceeds to buy back stock.

As for nothing else to invest in, in times of extreme valuations, the best thing to do, typically, is to be in cash or low-yield, short-term Treasuries. The problem with creating inflation via debt is that it ultimately creates a deflation when the debt is repaid. I do not believe that has happened yet but with hypervaluation of financial assets, many players in the market realize that its an unstable house of cards. There is a limit to the amount of stock that can be bought, too, since corporations themselves are the biggest buyers of equities over the past few years.

Under sane circumstances, going to cash or short-term Treasuries would be the best thing to do. If you knew this was coming, the best move was to be in longer dated Treasury bonds. The longer the duration, the greater the capital gain. However, the long duration Treasuries trade is now very richly valued.

However, these are insane times and the central banks have exceeded the bounds of their charters. It is best to have a mix of assets.

>It is best to have a mix of assets.
Continued....

It is best to have a mix of assets because there is a great risk that the central banks will eventually get to a point where they create money without a corresponding debt or they lose control of their bond markets. In those cases, being 100% in cash and government debt will cause one to lose a tremendous amount of purchasing power.

One needs some equities and hard assets (real estate, commodities, precious metals) to protect purchasing power in the event of high inflation or monetary chaos. Cash is necessary for its optionality in the event we do get a genuine crash. Bonds are necessary, albeit very dear at current levels, in the highly unlikely event that deflation does take hold.

because classic chinese government. they always redirect blame so that their people will not rise up against them. it's all about making chinese hate either Japan for war crimes or USA for keeping china down.

how many times have we heard "you've hurt the feelings of the chinese people" (knowing that most chinese have no idea whats even going on). that's a common card. saying someone is racist against chinese is also common even though they are the most racist nation on earth, constantly posting about how ugly they think blacks are on social media.
