How do you meet people that are interested in leaving the wageslave life? I wish I knew some like-minded people that would actually like to sit down and discuss things, bounce ideas off each other, read books and discuss them etc. All my friends are fucking retards that just want to work 40hrs and not worry about anything else. Any time I try to talk business with them they all go "it'll never work blah blah you'll only make 70k a year and risk losing it all"

Fucking pussies man

that's everyone, anon.

there's just different levels of credulity regarding how easy or possible that goal is.

I think about it every day. All day. And have no one to talk to in person. I have no illusions that making a living yourself is not easy but it seems to me that it is possibly the most worthwhile pursuit in life. I just don't understand how so many people are more or less content to be squeezed for as much work as possible for as little pay as possible.

You just need to do it my dude, start working towards it yourself and maybe your friends will follow. I've got a 5-10 year plan where I'll be working freelance while trying to start some small businesses that will hopefully be able to run themselves in the long run. It's a lot of hours now, but I get to decide those hours and work from where ever I want, with the goal being to eventually only work when I feel like it. There's a chance I'll end up homeless, but fuck it

Make that lifestyle your goal and work hard towards it, but don't expect it overnight. The sooner you start the sooner you'll get it

Where are you from?

Most of the people I know who would like to leave the wageslave live are people who are not very accomplished and want to start their own business for the wrong reasons. They are stuck with a shitty job simply because they don't have what it takes to do any better. One exception is a good friend of mine who is an incredibly motivated and hard working man. He left his well-paid job, because he has a vision, clear goals and the right work ethic to achieve them. These are usually the people that eventually succeed and if you look at the statistics on how many new businesses fail you can tell that these people are rare. How do you meet them? Well I'd say you start working on your business (first, without giving up on financial security) and try to find people who are already doing something similar, people who could become mentors or business partners.

I'm sure your failsafe plans developed in your mummy's basement will make you a millionaire working 5h a week in no time, just keep on dreaming.

The grass is always greener. The owner of my company makes $15,000 a month but no one would describe him as happy. He runs around 12 hours a day and takes phone calls in the middle of the night in order to keep the wheels on.

UNDERRATED POST.

>be me
>discover personal finance
>buy books and loan to near all friends.

Not 1 single fucking friend will read one. But then talk about how they are going to invent the wheel and make billions.

Meanwhile poor broken wageslave me lives in a drafty shithole and drives 15 year old cars so i can invest and get rich.

Then once I retire every single mutherucker i know will be up my ass about "what to invest in."

And again.

I will hand them a goddamn book.

And again. They will not read it.

I have come to the comclusion that einstien was right. Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results is insanity.

Almost everyone i know is insane.

Example: the wife and i used credit cards to build credit. Got a little behind and descided to get a debt consolidation loan to take care of a few things.

While we did borrow more money the interest was so low that, extending our debt payments for a whole other year not only lowered our payments. But it also reduced the total that we would pay vs another several months at credit card interest.

So here i sit having come from 400s credit score to near 800. And i explain this to my buddy who was eager to learn how to reduce debt but not read a fucking book.

He and his wife do pretty much the same thing. With the same company.

Omfg anon so happy u saved us! This is amazing!! Save so much money and such a stress relief! We can take the kids to disney world in summer!

Not 3 weeks latter.

Pulls up to my house in a brand new dodge pickup.

Solid advive.

Married so homeless not an option.

But living like a broke ass hillbilly if we dont make it is.

I okay any major risk through her. Not because i am a cuck. But making her hapoy is first and being rich is second. I dont want to rist number 1 pursuing number 2. Hopefully we win. If not, we have little bad debt and i have good insurance. If shes smart she will just shank me in my sleep and learn to blow rich dudes. If not, i have few regrets when i die old and broke...

It used to be like that at my old wage slave job. I got a job in the Alaskan oilfields and almost everyone has a net worth of half a million dollars to begin with, and most have a side business as well. We are always talking about business ideas and opportunities at work.

I know it's kind of a chicken and egg problem, but get a job with other highly motivated / successful people.

Anon, you need to think of an idea yourself. Once that is established, you need to spend time looking for a team with the specialized knowledge and entrepreneurial ambition to stick with your idea, so you don't have to pay people in the early stages.

Then once you strike it rich, you'll be able to afford wageslaves and expand your business.

Figure out exactly what you want to do before you look for people to execute your plans (by giving them vested interest in your business).
